Point of Clarification: If my father's tax returns are joint with my mother would he fill out an I-864A instead of I-864?

Hey there amigos!

Topic says it all. From what I have garnered online, it seems that the I-864A is for when a Joint Sponsor receives some of his/her resources from the assets of another household member.
In my case, my father is my joint sponsor and his taxes are filed in conjunction with my mother. Additionally, much of the assets they have are in joint accounts. Am I right to assume then, that the I-864A is the right form for him?

Lastly, Is there any place on visajourney where there is an example version of the I-864A?

Your father completes an I-864.

If his income - excluding the mother's - was sufficient to meet the guidelines then nothing else is required. If it isn't then his wife would need to complete an I-864A.

I think this is how it works. Someone will correct me if not.
