My university generally picks a day I'm having an exam for a fire drill. All that does is cut down on the amount of time I have to take it. Why couldn't they schedule fire drills when something boring is being lectured about? :P

Was only like -5C, beautiful blue sky out!!! Any time is a good tiem for a fire drill!! lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ramsey: I'm sure you would have. Me, on the other hand, I tend to think that's the best time to run a drill. Confusion on a ship is nothing to fear. It should be taken advantage of. Lest you forget, Mr. Hunter, we are a ship of war, designed for battle. We don't just fight battles when everything is hunkey-dorey.

I know, to a hardy Canadian single digit weather is refreshing, but to a poor New Yorker who has been in the South too long, it was bitchin' cold out, lol.

I grew up in Saskatchewan, can get pretty darn cold there. Then I moved to Voctoria BC on the west coast of Canada and the winters there are very mild, and when Vic did get snow was only there for a few days, more rain in the winter than snow. I wore shorts year round running to work. Then went on course in Winnipeg manitoba, a place where it gets darn cold, and man did i suffer, lol Victoria made me into a big wuss,lol Snow day today for my better half! I stil lhave to go into class!!oh well
