Are the VisaJourney guides still up to date?

I'm putting together my documents for the NVC (AOS and IV documents) and am finding some differences between the US Visa site and the VisaJourney guides. Specifically:

1) The US Visa site specifically states all the documents identified on the Document Cover Sheet sent in the welcome package should be sent in in one package. The VisaJourney guides suggest different packages can be sent in for AOS and IV documents.

From the US Visa site: After you collect your Affidavit of Support form(s) and financial evidence in Step 4, and supporting documents in Step 5, you must submit all of your forms, financial evidence, and photocopies of your original civil documents in ONE package to the NVC. Your case may be significantly delayed if you fail to submit all of your documents in one package.

2) The US Visa site states that photocopies of official documents should be sent to the NVC, with originals needed at the interview. The VisaJourney guides suggest that originals must be sent to the NVC.

From the US Visa site for marriage certificate:

If you are married, you must obtain an original (or certified copy) of your marriage certificate.

• You must submit a photocopy of your marriage certificate to the NVC.
• You must submit an original (or certified copy) and a photocopy of your marriage certificate to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview

Has the NVC processed changed since the VisaJourney guides were last updated?

Yeah the wiki is your best bet. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

Saylin (who wrote the wiki) recently updated it so it is more cohesive with the actual government website. I ended up following a bit of both. The guides are at least a bit outdated, so read the instructions from the packets, etc. carefully, and then post your own threads asking specific questions.

or read one of the last 3.5 years worth of NVC Monthly threads,

as

it's quite probably your question has already been asked and answered, in an NVC Monthly thread.

I would say, usually, to use the advanced search tool, but the site owner broke it.

Joining the NVC thread is a good idea except most people don't join until they are at NVC.

And given the fact that the poster is addressing outdated NVC guides and advice, reading old, outdated NVC threads seems quite counter productive.

Thanks for the info. I search the forums extensively and they have answered many of my questions. Also updated my timeline. I think I am in good shape now. Just need the IV invoice so I can complete the DS-260 and send in my NVC package.
