We received a request for evidence and submitted what they wanted and completed our biometrics. Now on the USCIS website it says

"On November 28, 2014, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXXXXX. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by January 27, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed."

Any ideas on how backed up the NBC is at this point?

AoS from a K visa can routinely take a year or so if the case remains at the NBC.

Only if you submitted and received your AP when you filed your AOS/I-485. If she leaves without the AP it will signify that she is abandoning her K1 and will not be allowed back in to USA. Edited February 7, 2015 by Greenbaum

but until right now we don't receive any decision or update from the NBC.

Any ideas on how backed up the NBC is at this point?

Is it K-1 AOS? If yes, the waiting game is up to 1 year for interview waiver. Good luck.

Did you file the I-131 (and I-765, both free to file with the I-485) when you filed the I-485? If yes, you will receive the AP (this allows you to travel outside the USA) card 2-4 months after filing usually.

If you filed the I-131 and have received the Advance Parole card then yes, other wise no.

She will need AP before she can leave the US.

If you have not already applied for AP, you can apply now and just include a copy of the NOA1 from your AOS application. It's free to file since you have a pending AOS. It will take about 3 months though.

Can she fly within the US while waiting for the AOS? Her k1 visa ended in November.
