e-Request for i130 status, whoever filed one please reply! :)

Hi All,

I have a few questiones regarding the e-Request option for "outside processing time" cases.

  1. Can the e-Request be filled by the beneficiary or only by the petitioner? The option says Applicant/Petitioner, but it is not clear to me if only the petitioner can fill it out and submit.
  2. Have you had any success filing an e-Request?
  3. Does an e-Request delay your i130 approval? We are at day 187 and I would not want to risk delaying further by requesting this.
  4. We are at day 187. USCIS claims Nebraska is processing in 5 months time. Are we good to file now that over 6 months have passed?
  5. Would you rather do the e-Request or contact your Senator? What has proven more effective in your opinion?

Either on can apply. I called uscis Monday, because as for February 14th we will have been at Nebraska for 6 months. The woman told me I had to wait until the 14th. Then I could call and put in a service request, so from what I understand you can do either way. And I think I will try and do both just to be safe, tho I'm not 100% that it is allowed. I was also told that Nebraska is running 1 month behind and we're currently working on July 17th. I hope you hear something soon

Flipping hate the Nebraska Service Center. They are so slow and inefficient. How can it be that it takes a year for immediate family to be together?!?!?! Makes me mad!

OP, filing an e-request should not delay the process of your I-130 in any way. Once our petition has hit five months and one day, we will also be filing an e-request about the process of our petition.

Feb 1st 2016 - Sent more in-depth info on assets as requested. Received the next morning

April 5th 2016 - POE Newark. No questions asked.


April 14th 2016 - SSN received


May 10th 2016 - First day at my new job :dancing:


May 27th 2016 - Green Card received

Yeah.......and just wait until you get to NVC. It doesn't get any better. We have been in NVC for 3 1/2 months with no end in sight.

Yeah.......and just wait until you get to NVC. It doesn't get any better. We have been in NVC for 3 1/2 months with no end in sight.

i submitted and inquiry and it didnt affect in any negative manner my case. I just got a email reply like 2 weeks later saying that it was being reviewed by an officer. I also contacted my senator and thanks to that they put "priority" on my case, and this last week I got a RFE. I might be wearing them out, but I have been doing everything in my power. I filed in July, so it has been 7 months now :(

I really do feel your pain.

We are both in Nebraska, we are both from Mexico. I have seen this take much longer for the closer borders (CAN and MEX).

I am sorry about your RFE, but I send you good vibes so that you get approved swiftly after the RFE.
