Yes, it is a great idea. Check to make sure your consulate allows the petitioner to attend the interview with the beneficary.

"If the petitioner is in the Phnom Penh City area at the time of the beneficiary's visa interview, the petitioner may accompany the beneficiary. However, please note that the interview is scheduled specifically to evaluate the beneficiary's eligibility, and the petitioner may be asked to wait in the waiting area. The interviewing officer will speak to the petitioner only if he/she determines it is necessary for the assessment of the case".

Having said that, I DO think it's a good idea you attend if you're able.

Every country is different. But witnessing many interviews on 3 different occasions at this embassy, it's a must to attend interview here. This Embassy is known for a very high denial rate specially K-1. The waiting area is right next to where they take actual interview. Everyone can watch and hear every ward co asks the candidates. My K-1 I was with my wife(Then fiance) and I was standing with her as well during interview and I answered 99% of the questions. During my IR-1 interview I answered first few questions and CO told me to take a seat and wait which was like 2 yards from her interview window and could see and hear every ward they were talking. Anyway, I witnessed so many interviews there that you must attend the interview. I don't think I saw any candidates passed their(K-1) who attended their interview without their fiance. Like I said this is a red flagged country for visa fraud and they deny visa for no reason at all specially K-1. If you engaged on your first ever visit to your fiance, very difficult to pass first time. First question they will ask you how did you meet and when did you get engaged and then ask you how many times you visited her before getting engaged. If answer is that was the first time then they will keep ask you again and again and hammer you on that question for 30/40 minutes. Because of lot of visa fraud in the past, US Embassy kind of forced to use this method. If you visited her multiple times before getting engaged then their is no problem. Other red flags are not speaking same language, age difference, different religions etc. So try to bring every piece of evidence as you can
