NVC - Are they still 7:00am-12:00am EST?

Hi everyone,

Last night I called and spoke with a service agent after 11:00pm EST. Tonight I called about 12 times, each time the normal "high call volume". So I kept calling back. At 11:00pm EST I received a new message I hadn't heard before "Customer service representatives are unavailable at this time. Please try calling back at a later time or visit our website."

As far as I know, NVC has not adjusted their hours of operation for the call center. Do I just keep calling over and over again or are they actually closed early? I know they have a bunch of messages, sometimes erroneous closed ones as well.

Since I sat on hold for 45 minutes last night, I wonder if they turn off new callers when their queue hits a certain limit that they know they can clear within the hour. If I keep calling back and get a spot, that seems plausible.

Thank you! :)

That is so pathetic. Why bother having a phone number if one has to solve riddles just to get someone to answer? I feel for you.

They could be closed due to inclement weather. It's about -11c in Rochester right now. I know they've been closing sporadically due to that a few times over the past couple of weeks.

Now chronicling my experience in handy blog format at

impossible got get to NVC. now cant even wait the phone just hangs up saying call later.

Its time we all complained to the senators/lawmakers. this entire operation is outsourced and we should know what the standard processing time for cases is and for answering phone calls

we are treated worse than anyone else in our own country as taxpaying citizens.
