Approved NO2 - Now what!?

I just realized how unprepared I am for this step - even after reading these forums so much! I just received the email notification that our case was approved today!!!

From my understanding I now wait for Packet 3?

Does anyone have estimates of the timelines from NOA2 and Interview in Canada? If I complete everything with the least amount of time - how much time am I looking at with my consulate being Montreal?

My lease is up at the end of April and I am hoping to have visa in hand before the end of April. What would be my chances of that!?

Woohoo, approved, how exciting. I too will be going to Montreal. My understanding is that your case will go to NVC, which takes approx. 5 months and then within a week or so, will be forwarded on the Montreal, which will send you your packets, etc. and I think that leg of the process is about maybe 6 weeks. So, I would think that about 6.5 months you should be having your interview in Montreal. I could be wrong, but, from what I've read, and, re-read, and, re-read...............yeah, it slowly breaks one's mind down in to tiny little porous pebbles........

5 months at NVC! I thought after NOA2 things started to pick up! After two weeks I thought you could call about a case number being assigned?

Well, I hope I'm wrong for your sake, you can get a number, but, you still have to submit the forms for them to review. Maybe I am out to lunch on this one. Did you check the Wiki for the NVC?

K-1s and CR-1s are different processes. The K-1 heads to NVC to be forwarded to the Montreal consulate, it was 3 weeks for me from NOA2 to the consulate receiving it. Montreal will send you packet 3 but you can search VJ for what it contains to get a jumpstart on things.

OP is applying for finance visa. You are applying for spouse. It is a different process.
