Super excited for my Fiancé and myself. We had our vacation in Thailand together two weeks ago and sent off the packet for K1 Visa today!! Now we play the waiting game. This will be the longest next few months of my life.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks! I have been lurking for a while since first meeting my fiancé when I realized it may be more difficult than moving cross state lines.. haha

I know the feeling. I did pretty much all the paperwork for both my fiancee's I-129F petition & the AOS application. And I think I probably quadruple-checked everything twice. Eventually, you have to just stick it in the mail & then go into observation mode.

And, like you, I lurked on here for a while before ever posting anything. Eventually you transition from 100% need help to something like where I am now, 50% need help/50% providing help. And I guess when Naturalization is done, you transition to 100% providing help. On this site, you just start to wanna pay it forward to others, as people did for you when you were new.

I sent my packet 02-02-2015 ad still see nothing

Did you overnight it? Let's say you did it would still only be 4 business days since it arrived at their PO Box. You'll hear something soon.

I checked my bank account this morning and they cashed the check, says dated today 2/12, so that means progress!!

I do have a question for you guys, my fiancé lives in Russia, and it seems the economy is not doing so well. She is a flight attendant and her company keeps delaying her work schedule saying to wait for the next schedule and next schedule. This is causing financial burden on us. Is it possible to expedite due to financial burden of me having to support her due to her company not providing work?

Long answer: I'm really sorry, but economic hardship is not a reason for expedite. I have seen exactly two expedite requests go through ever: 1. The oversea fiance was living in Donetsk, slap bang in the middle of the Ukrainian war zone and 2. The USC petitioner had some extreme medical issues.

That's what I was worried about, and after reading other threads, I didn't feel the need to start a new one to ask the question. The plus side is that I have received a text confirming they received it and an official notice to follow in the mail (I-797).

Welcome to VJ! Where in Russia? My fiancee lives in Moscow. I'm heading back over in April for the birth of our son.

You appear to live in TEXAS, right? You should consider joining us for the next meetup in Houston!

She lives in Krasnoyarsk. She wants me to travel there to meet her family, but will probably move here first, then when visa is settled and been together for a while travel together to visit family.. maybe a year after she arrives here.. those plans are not set in stone yet.

I am in Texas, in Allen. About 30 minutes north of Dallas. I would be interested in joining a meet up, but it would depend on when it is and my busy work schedule. Keep me updated.
