Hi, I'm sure this has been mentioned but couldn't find anything. How much does a single person need to have on their bank account statement as proof of funds in the interview to support themselves in the USA? Does it differ between different embassy's? Thanks

You should be able to show $10,000 per person in bank statement. Alternatively an affidavit of support will suffice if you have a host who is willing to fill the I-134 form. Having a job offer can also strengthen your case.

Certain embassies do specify the need for an Affidavit of Support to show financial support. Please refer to the specific embassy for further details.
