I can see myself wearing these two to work. Now I just have to figure out how to make them!! My younger sister-in-law played with my head for over an hour trying to make different styles for me to see which one worked. She did it so fast though I could never remember how to do it!! I'll have to take notes the next time I go.

Yes modern modest wear is easy and fun ...to look for, make and style... have you been to shikr.com? I personally like clothes like this much more then the old jilbeb and abaya. I mean they are nice too, but I prefer to mix it up.

I think styling the hijeb scarf is more difficult.

Yes, those are more modern modest wear. I prefer these too. I mean I like my abaya and jilbeb(it has it's purpose), but I am not trying to wear a chador. I think I scare my family when I wear it.

I just love the styles on Shukr clothes.They offer modren Turkis, Maroc and trouser style clothing. Much more appealing here in the West. AndI think this type of clothing is much more *accepted* at the workplace. I mean sure you have right to cover all up, but it is bizarre if one day you come in to work with a chador on, when before you came in minis you know!

If I may ask......what is the point of wearing the arm thingies under a short sleeved shirt? Why not just wear a long sleeved shirt and be done with it? Or is it for the fashion?

Well, when I run it's functional. All long sleeve running shirts I've come across are of a slightly heavier material than short sleeved ones. When you're running in the summer, that extra weight can be a killer. So, I'll wear a short sleeve shirt, paired with the arm gauntlets, so that I don't sweat to death.

And, sometimes I just like to be different. A baggy tshirt with gauntlets looks spiffy to me My other choice is to wear a long sleeve white shirt underneath, but those all had tight sleeves too, so i thought, why not skip a layer and throw on some gauntlets?

oh i never thought of the fact that short sleeved shirts are thinner! Cool!
