Hello everyone!

I've just signed up here and I just want to hear your opinions/past experiences. I work online for a US-based company so I'm technically not working abroad. When I filled up my G-325A form, I didnt indicate it in the abroad section although the address was in California.

Do you think this might be a problem? Any similar cases?

Do you pay tax in your home country, or the USA? If you're resident in your home country, and pay tax there, then I don't see any issues.

Hi thank you for your response! No I don't pay any taxes in the US so everything is settled here. I was just concerned of the address I indicated as California (since we don't have a local headquarters here).

Unfortunately no

I simply stated that I was a "Snippet Writer". If they find it wrong, chances are I would have to resend a new biographic form?

I don't see it causing any problems. At most they might ask, but so long as you can show that you lived in Philippines and paid any taxes there, then I can't see any problems.

I have a similar situation - I run a small software business and I can work from anywhere with an internet connection. But at present I'm resident in the UK, and pay my taxes there. When I move to the US its likely I'll continue to have my company based in the UK (we have other employees) but I'll register to pay taxes etc in the USA instead.

Thanks everyone! Regarding tax tho, I haven't tried filing it yet because there is no definite law here requiring online workers to pay. I suppose our embassy knows about it, I hope...

Edit : Which reminds me, am I supposed to show bank statements or tax papers during my interview?

Yes there a definite laws regarding income and filing taxes in Philippines.

What I have seen many time in Philippines.

US based companies will hire employees who have internet at their house and subcontact them, Generally pay ranges from $3 to $6 per day.

Should I file my BIR? I earn $20+ per day. I never really tried to look this up online. And thanks for the info!
