Partisan politics is irrelevant to this thread. People are only outraged about what Isis are doing because the technology exists to see it in real time. Years ago it happened out of sight and out of mind except for those few tourists who years later have seen the skull towers in Cambodia and wonder how people became so depraved that they could do such things.

Its fine to be angry about Isis, just be sure that you know where that anger comes from.

A minority I would say. I think more people just don't want to consider that a) what happened didn't happen that long ago and b) it left a legacy that can be seen in the present day. And of course c) that they just might have benefitted from it.
