I know you veterans here have heard this a million times, but I need to vent and this is the only place I can go where there are others going through the same long process. Our CEAC status is still at READY a week after the interview on 1/29. It hasnt changed or been updated. What makes it so hard is its impossible to plan anything. I already took 2 weeks off of work this month anticipating her arrival, and flight prices keep increasing. The waiting is making me crazy. I keep checking 2go, ustraveldocs, ceac....no change. i hope and pray i get an update in the next couple of days. I REALLY miss my fiance and we just want to be together now. I'm thinking of calling the immigration unit at the embassy to see if I might get some info. Feel free to weigh in with your thougts or experiences. i know Im not alone here.

Now we have heard it 1,000,001 times at last count. :D From the interview to the issue can be as much if not more than 5-10 business days at best or sometimes we have seen 30 to 60 days. There was a time 6 months ago many were just trying to get an interview date. They felt they were at the fair and using the hammer to hit the clown that came up through the hole and kept swinging till they hit a open interview date. We even found a software program that if you left open the scheduling page and when anything changed, an alarm would go off and you would have to wake up out of a dead sleep and hit the button on your laptop sitting next to your bed hoping you were going to get that date. Many times it wouldn't sound for a day or so.

So, no one can predict when you will have yours. I can ensure you that if it is sitting at ready then you are near but not near enough to begin plans because it hasn't gone to issue.

You're making yourself crazy by sitting at your computer and update/refreshing the web page hoping that it says issue. Everyone in Manila is in bed so stop looking and keep yourself busy. Check it tonight and then not till morning. Just a little tidbit from a veteran.

LOL.... yeah!!!

I can understand... you can't do a thing without that elusive visa (IV F4) on hand.... can't buy tickets, can't sell properties, can't resign from work, blah-blah-blah... and the time between now and our should-be-departure date (ours is March 29 - validity of medical exam, else we have to repeat the medical) is getting slimmer everyday.... but this is life....and yes, sometimes, we just need some venue to get that out of our chests...thank you all for the encouragement!!!

Cheers!!!

That's only 5 business days. Your's is coming soon. We recently waited 11 business days to get issued. K-1's seem to take a little longer than the immigrants and those pregnant or with children from what I can tell. I know the frustration of going into another weekend of what seems like no action, we did 3 of those after the interview. Not to mention 8 months of DOT process. All I can say is that it's going to happen for you soon.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I know you guys are going or have gone through the same emotions. I guess we should count our blessings, there are those who have got it worst. I cant even imagine the DOT,,,I give you a lot of credit for hanging through that. The 3 month culture wait was hard enough, I'm just trying to stay as busy as possible and trying to stay positive. I suppose it wouldn't do any good to call the embassy at this time. I'm just a little concerned because it appears they haven't touched our case since the interview.

Yes, best to just give it time to process. Calling the USEM generally yielded us a response to call back in 2 days. I've emailed them for the past several months. The only reply I ever received were not answers to my questions, but rather finally a congratulatory email saying we were Issued.

There is a "Feedback" link at the same website where me make the USEM appointments. I sent messages there and received responses within a day or two. Not specific answers, generally template replies. Perhaps an efficient way to express our interest in getting our visas Issued rather than jamming up the IV phone line.

@kingneptune :

Me and my wife also went through the sputum test.... Had our interview last Jan 13 and we're still in ready status (updated last Feb 2, 3,4 & 5, for 5 of us).... one month next Friday.... and this --- had to skip our SG (office) trip next week because I don't have my passport with me obviously... but i'm still smiling despite the feeling of agitation and frustration... It's really a good thing that we have folks here who keeps on encouraging us each time we seem to lose it all :)

... and yes, prayer works...at least to make us feel comfortable :)

Cheers still!

I had my interview last Jan 29 too and I'm also stuck at "ready"! I know, it's annoying. I tried calling the USEM and they just told me to call back on Feb 13 cause the process "usually" takes a week or two..... usually <_<
