SLEC gave me a "Do not open" envelope after my Tdap vaccine

I had my medical on Dec. 1 and got my MMR vaccine and told me they don't have the Tdap but the embassy will allow me to leave the country even without that vaccine because they are aware that Tdap is out of stock that time. They gave me a number to call on Jan. 20 if i want to have the other vaccine. I went back to SLEC today to get my Tdap and they gave me an envelope with a "do not open" to be opened only by the United States Consular Officer at the time of interview. The lady asked me if I had my interview and I said yes. Then she gave me an envelope and told me that I am not allowed to open it and will give to the POE. My question is, is this the envelope that the embassy gives you that everyone talks about.

No it's not. This envelope I'm guessing is your DS-3025 that contains updated medical results to include the new vaccines that you completed. You should get a copy at your POE as you will need it to complete your AOS when it comes time.

Please update your profile and time line when you get a chance. These help those who are trying to answer your questions.

They should have given her the DS-3025 separately along with the CD. The DO NOT OPEN from SLEC should only be her medical file that is normally delivered to USEM

Did the embassy state anything about them waiting for the medical records before final approval of the visa?

Greenbaum, the lady at SLEC gave me an updated Immunization chart and an envelope and told me I'm not allowed to open and give it to POE. What does she meant give to POE?

Hank, no the embassy didn't state anything that they are waiting for the medical records. I went to SLEC yesterday to have the Tdap vaccine only. I'm done with my medical last Dec. 1 but because Tdap was out of stock during that time they told me to call this January if I want to have it. They gave me the CD with the Immunization chart before but yesterday they gave me an updated Immunization chart together with an envelope that it says Do not open. What should I do with the envelope? Should I call the embassy to let them know about it?

OK, you are good to go I would think. POE is where you enter the USA, you will give the CBP agent the DO NOT OPEN envelopeS from USEM & SLEC.

Thanks Hank. The lady asked at SLEC asked me to checked if my name and date of birth on the updated Immunization chart and then she folded that one and put inside the envelope. I hope everything is going to be fine. My fiance was upset because he thought SLEC messed up with my medical records. He said SLEC should send that to the embassy. :( I felt like it would be better if I didn't get the Tdap vaccine.

Hi kipper_22. I called SLEC on wednesday to ask them if TDAP vaccine is already available and they told me it's available but limited only. They scheduled me thursday for that vaccine. I got my vaccine and they updated my Immunization chart and gave me a copy together with the envelope. If you're planning to get that vaccine you should call them now so they can schedule you.

Her fiancee is fine :) it's very surprising and frustrating trying to rely on guidelines from the embassy. One call and they tell you to wait for an email or letter that has never come. Not once have we received instructions from the embassy. Visa journey is the only way we have been able to navigate through the process. As Hank as helped so many,we hope to do the same for others also.thanks to all

Hi Genesis1, I was at SLEC at past 7 in the morning. I just present my receipt from SLEC at the guard and then proceed to 2nd flr. Then I gave my receipt to the nurse and waited for them to call my name. I had my Tdap at about 9:30 then they told me to wait at the lobby because they need to update my records. I got my updated immunization chart at past 10. Yes, you can call them and ask if they have it.

No, that's not the visa packet. That only has something to do with your medical report. The visa packet (the yellow envelop you get from 2go that you're not suppose to open) is what you're referring to.

POE means port of entry- which airport in the US you'd be landing on and where your immigration documents (the visa packet) and all would be submitted.
