Photo won't upload on ds-160

Fiancé going to interview soon in Senegal but the Ds-160 did not upload the photo! It said bring 5x5 photo to interview! Is this common occurrence and does anyone know what 5x5 is? Is that typical size photograph for usa passport? Thank u

If the photo won't upload you need to reduce the file size. There is a limit to the size of the file you can upload.

The dimensions you refer to are metric: 51mm = 5cm = 2in. These are US passport photo dimensions.

Thanks John, the problem is already submitted. But have not paid visa fee or booked the appointment. Can fiancé just discard original ds-160 and make an entire new one, since old one does not have photo?

Yes you can create a new DS-160, and just bring the confirmation page of your newest DS-160 to the interview.

I had the same problem and was able to bring a US passport sized photo to the interview that they then used. But that was in Austria, not sure if it applies to all countries.

That way I was also sure that is machtched the requirements of lighting etc, because none of my photos on my computer did and I didnt trust myself to get it right ;-)
