Yes, plus another three months (give or take) for everything else (USCIS to NVC, NVC to consulate, and then the interview). The unknown variable for people filing now who get sent to TSC is whether the backlog will continue to grow and how DACA/DAPA will affect processing times.

I'd suggest filling in your timeline. The estimates for the NOA2 date can be very good. Once you have your timeline started you can easily compare your progress with others. We've found this feature to be very helpful, especially during the waiting periods.

Unfortunately, this works well for those at CSC because most from that service center fill their timelines in correctly. If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck at TSC, your estimated dates won't do anything for you. Too many people incorrectly fill in their timeline, assuming that because they used the Dallas Lockbox they are at TSC.. Even though everyone files at Dallas. The sad reality is that it will be off because many of those people actually ended up at CSC and were approved in 30-60 days, skewing EVERYONE'S timeline at TSC.

I would ignore Igor's list and the estimated adjudication date. Browse TSC only threads because reading anything from CSC will eventually make you angry, bitter and resentful :( Each filing month seems to have it's own TSC-only thread lately. Look around - if there isn't one you can always make one!

Remember that some countries like the Philippines are expedited, so you may see some from TSC being approved before you but they filed after you.

My fiance and I did well with the estimated dates until we hit 5 months and then we just got really really annoyed at everything. It slowly wears you down to be honest, this process is anything but easy and fair.

Timeline

According to your timeline it says the estimated time is between June through August 16th for you. That sounds fairly promising.

Who knows if the TSC will speed up in the coming months since its a new year?

Also, good luck to you as well! I don't understand why the estimated K-1 time is between 3-5 months if it'll take this long. It's insane to keep us apart from our partners for that long.

Lol @ VJ estimated timelines. My timeline first said November. It's now February, and USCIS is still processing July filers. Unlikely that it will take less than 6 months, if not more. VJ timelines change everyday and are not really all that accurate.

My advice: If you want to plan now, plan for WAY ahead [like this winter or next spring or something (unless you care more about just getting married right away and planning the wedding in 3 months hahah!)] and separate the civil ceremony & the wedding. My fiance & I are having our actual wedding this September. It's been planned for over a year now, but it's not likely that we'll get our visa until May or June, so we planned the civil ceremony part separate from the wedding. So you have civil ceremony when you get the visa (maybe in Sept or Oct, but can't count on an exact time frame) then have your wedding later on. That way you can plan for it to be whenever YOU want to, and not whenever USCIS gets around to your application, AND you can save up money once your EAD goes through. :P Also, don't worry if you decide to do this.. My fiance & I were upset at first that we'd be legally married first, but it's not that big of a deal! Our real wedding will be at our church and celebrating with family & friends!

If not, like everyone else said, no real plans until at least you've set an interview! Even then, it's risky.

Good luck, and welcome to the world of waiting at TSC! We all know the pain all too well :)

When we were going through this process in 2012 and 2013, we were at Vermont Service Center, and they were as slow or slower than TSC, and I asked many questions on this site.

No.1 golden rule told to me by several moderators, is, "NEVER plan nothing until you have a visa in your passport, no airline ticket, nothing," when you have a visa in hand, you can buy tickets, plan events etc.

As for Igor's List on this site, they were within 6 days of our NOA 2, so to me they are pretty close.

Best of luck on your journey, follow Igor's List on this site and you can do some "very limited planning" until visa in hand, and hope you are not delayed by another phase of this journey.

It's good that VJ's estimates helped you, but for most of us right now, especially at TSC, it's been inaccurate. Most of us all had timelines that said earlier NOA2s, and then they changed every single day until now, where they may be somewhat accurate in giving a later date. I wouldn't recommend that anyone follow too closely estimated times on here. They change literally everyday and can give false hope. Besides that, people don't always fill in their timelines properly. Hence why it told us we'd get a NOA1 in November. It doesn't take into account expedites or people who have put the wrong service center. Therefore, they can be a good time frame but aren't always helpful.

Realistically, only people from the Philippines filing in January can likely schedule a wedding for August and expect to get the visa before that. Philippine cases are expedited, even at the TSC while other countries are much slower.

Hi po, yeah I noticed that upon checking the timeline information that our NOA2 can be received within 15 days to 3 months (some are longer). In the status tracker at USCIS, it says that I may receive my NOA about end of the month. Our NOA1 was received and filed on 28JAN.

I also noticed that it differs from nationality to nationality. Some are able to get there in like 188 days or so.

I strongly suggest that if you want to have an idea about the the process, check out the timeline portion and filter it to people from your country so you can have an idea or overview how long it will take.

Why not make the wedding legal when they arrive and plan a wedding with a more comfortable timeframe?

So say they arrive in October, pop to the courthouse and get married to fulfil the K1 requirement, whilst in the meantime have a wedding planned for say, March 2016 and be safe in the knowledge that visa delays are unlikely to affect your plans?

Just an idea, I think this way really helps take the stress out of things.

P.S sorry if others have suggested the same thing, I don't mean to be repetitive.

Hello all!

Our K-1 Visa was officially documented by the TSC on January 12, 2015 and we recieved our hard-copy NOA1 on January 15, 2015.

I would like to be realistic with this whole process. If it helps to determine, my fiancé is from England (UK) no criminal records, etc. and everything is in good standing.

I would like to know my realistic chances of having our wedding this August? What about September? Or October at the latest?

I know the TSC tends to take the longest, but we agreed that any of those three months that I listed would be just fine for our wedding.

Does anyone have any input? I know we are all apart from our fiances for a while, but this forum will help me cope since we're all in this together! :)

Your timeline is very similar to ours. We also went through the TSC and started the process last year 2014 on the same date. Even though we are a same-sex couple the process is identical. When he finally got the visa it was 10 months later. This was with no delays at any stage of the process....AND expensive!!

A few people have mentioned conflicting information and the possibly inaccuracy of the VJ website timelines...if you look at the USCIS website, the processing times as of the last update for CSC are 5 months and TSC more or less 5.5 months. It's still not "fast" but it's better than what we see on this site.

We got our NOA1 on Dec 30 and are stressing too! We are living in Spain together and were hoping he'd be able to come to the US mid or late October. I will go home to look for work first (I'm a teacher so I need to be back by August). But if it's going to be super delayed, I'd rather stay in Spain and work one more semester abroad and then have us go together at Christmas. It's hard to "not plan anything concrete" when so many factors are dependent on your travel plans!

It's "old" information because the update was November 30. But it says that as of Nov 30, they are processing June 6th.

There have been exactly 2 non-Filipinos I have seen approved at TSC in 5.5 months or less since I began stalking this board.

The rest? 180d plus. Sometimes significantly more. 6.5 - 7months is your best bet these days.

It's actually on and around 200 days for TSC now though in the last couple of days it has gone down slightly to just above 190. But I believe the downhill trend is because they have been processing more of end of July applicants than beginning of July.
