Hi everyone!

So I'm starting my Naturalization process, and my field office will be New Orleans. Can anyone shed some light on the time frame in the office? The processing time on line says June 2014.

My husband and I have plans to return to Australia later in the year (thinking Sept), but I'm now worried I won't have time to get this process completed before we plan to leave.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I can't speak for New Orleans specifically, but nationwide, 6 months or more is pretty standard for submission to oath. Some applicants wait longer and some finish up faster. If you apply now, I'd say you probably have better than even odds of being done by September, but there's bo guarantee of that.

I advise you to make sure your travel plans are flexible just in case.

Thanks for the reply! I know the average is around 6 - 7 months (thats what USCIS tells me), but I'm concerned there is a hold up in New Orleans. (My travel can be flexible but trying to organize relocating a dog to the otherside of the world is very time specific!)

Anyone recently gone through the process with NOLA?
