Hi everyone,

after waiting so long for USCIS, stress levels have been high since...especially because I expected it to be another long wait.

I called NVC last night and they confirmed that my package was sent to the embassy in Frankfurt, Germany Jan 30, 2015.

Tracking DHL, say it did not arrive yet... so why am I writing this?

Because I like to keep checking and looked up my case number at CEAC status tracker and it tells me "Ready"

What does that mean? Do I still wait for "Packet 3"? Or can I go ahead and schedule an appointment?

I booked my medical appointment for next week already.

I'd appreciate if germans, who recently had their interview could give me more insight.

If there is a "Packet 3", what forms do we need to fill out?

Thank you very much!

I am very excited :D

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I am in the same boat as you but mine is in Armenia and I went ahead and scheduled the interview for Feb 24. I believe that that the packet 3 is the same for everyone in their specific countries us embassy website. I found mine on the visajourney website. On monday I told my fiance to call one of the 2 medical centers that was on the packet 3 that I found on the website to schedule an examination. Just go online, pay the fee and schedule an interview. They gave me until the 23rd to reschedule if I need to and I'm sure they'll do the same for you. Congrats and good luck!

I just had this "packet 3" conversation with my wife again on Friday to have her clarify exactly what it was. "Packet 3" is simply an email from the consulate.

  • 3 months later...

We are looking to have a short visit and just have my fiance fly back into Frankfurt on his way home as its quite a distance from his home city. We are just waiting on packet 3. Do you happen to know/remember if interviews are all days Mon-Fri at Frankfurt, or only specific days of the week? I dont want to book him flying home on a Wednesday if they only do appointments Mon and Tues or something.

Thanks!

I think they do interview every week day, but you need to book your appointment first and cannot just "walk-in".

I had my interview on a wednesday. Booked a flight for 6AM and then back in the afternoon at 4PM (same day).

I know there is no walk in. But the medical has been a complete pain in the rear to schedule. Frankfurt only does 3 days and week, and not Thursday this week because of the holiday. Munich is on vacation this week, and booked for the next 4, as they only do them Tuesdays.

I just wanted to make sure that we could book his interview any day of the regular work week. We should have the invitation any day now, but he wants to come for 3 weeks over his birthday when a few of our other mutual friends will be here in NY for 2 weeks from both CA and Germany. He doesnt want to miss out on the fun lol. I thought it would be cool if instead of taking the first available appointment we could just book it so that he has his interview the morning after he flies in so he wouldnt have to make the trip twice.
