You and I usually over the years have seen eye to eye eventually. They are crappy and no one should look to them for deep thought provoking analysis. They should be good for a regular news of, who, what, when, where, and why is all but they even fail at that now.

Not even that. I rely on print media - electronic versions - exclusively. Don't watch much TV to begin with but whatever little I do watch, TV news isn't part of the mix. I don't even have "news channels" since I don't have - or want - cable.

Got rid of cable myself awhile back as we watched it seldom. We have antennae and get almost 90 channels that I never knew we could get. And to top it off there were 8 channels of Vietnamese programming and that stunned me. Of course we live near a major city with a large Vietnamese population. Ended up saving 120.00 a month on a cable bill. Don't miss it at all but like I said we very seldom had time to watch TV anyway.

Listen to multiple sources. Everybody has an agenda. After hearing a story from different viewpoints, then you can intelligently develop your own. There is no shortage of alternate views of what is the "true" story.

Actually the most interesting news often isn't the ones they tell you about.

EXCLUSIVE: Former NBC anchor Katie Couric willing to take over if Brian Williams exits, says source

Brian Williams has never faced enemy fire like this.
While NBC honchos are deciding how to deal with the fallout from Williams’ tall tale about his helicopter being shot with a rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq, sources tell Confidenti@l that longtime NBC anchor Katie Couric would be happy to step into the role.
“Katie still has deep, deep contacts at NBC,” said an insider close to Couric, who left her job at the Peacock Network in 2006. “She would love to return as the ‘Nightly News’ anchor.”

It's kinda like watching the Wall come down in Europe to witness the LWNJ castle crumble before your very eyes. What will all these left wingers do now that their only motivation is to whine about how unfair life is? Maybe a vacation is in order. Say, Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi, Yemen, or 21st century it ain't no threat Russia?

Brian Williams' conflicting stories about saving puppies from fires
Long before he was caught lying about his chopper being forced down by enemy fire in Iraq, Brian Williams boasted how he bravely rescued a terrified puppy from a house fire. Or maybe it was two puppies. The truth-challenged NBC anchor told dueling versions of his supposed heroics as a teenage volunteer firefighter with the Old Village Fire Company in Middletown, NJ.
In October 2011, Williams waxed rhapsodic about how his dad took him to fires.
“I remember one such house fire . . . conducting a search on my hands and knees, when I felt something warm, squishy and furry on the floor of a closet,” Williams said. “I instinctively tucked it in my coat. When I got outside, I saw two small eyes staring up at me, and I returned the 3-week-old and very scared puppy to its grateful owners,” he said.
But in July 2005, he told a different story, insisting he had saved not one but two pups from certain death.
“All I ever did as a volunteer fireman was once save two puppies,” he said, according to Esquire magazine.
