Hi! I'm a Singapore national, and will be applying for the H1B1 non-immigrant work visa. I will visiting Athens and Italy on their Visa Waiver Program with Singapore, as a tourist, and would like to apply for the H1B1 in the US consulates there.

I called up the Athens embassy and they said it should be allowed; couldn't get in touch with the Italy embassy. I've heard of people applying as a TCN tourist and being outright rejected though.

Does anyone have any experience in this area? Any advice? I know it'll be best to just return to Singapore to do this, but I was wondering if the differences in chances is 80% to 70% or 80% to 20% for instance. Also, which embassy is better--Greece or Italy?

Thank you!!

Your US employer takes care of the H1b, not you.

Do you have a US job offer?

This something different.

I guess if you are a resident they should process one, might be looking it up and working it out as they go along.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
