AOS Interview Tomorrow

I am just putting everything in order for my interview tomorrow, and am wondering if I need to take all the documentation that I took for my K-1 interview as well. Just read a post about someone being asked for e-mails prior to their marriage.

Also, do they ask for 2005 tax return only, or should we also have 2004 and 2003?

Take everything you have.... that way you will have it to hand if asked for it...

I lugged a wheeled suitcase to London for his Visa interview.

I lugged the same wheeled suitcase to Pittsburgh for our AOS interview.

I always worked from the case - took stuff out, re-copied, put it back in. That way we had it all with us.

We had a bit of a shredding party after the interview - just to clean out the clutter. Now it's all in a expandable folder in our home office waiting for the next step - whenever that might be.

Oh - I have always kept all of the REALLY important documents in a small 1 inch thick binder. Each document is in a plastic page protector. You know, all the NOA's, original birth certificate, original police letter, even the marriage certificate.

Everybody knows if the house catches on fire to grab the dog and the white notebook!

I keep all my immigration paper work and the new evidence I am collecting for removal later this year in a fire proof box...

Hi,

take everything you have. You never know what they ask for. I just got back from our interview and the officer asked me about document I was supposed to get with my J1 visa more than 2 years ago, I couldnt even rembember if I got it or not. But than I said I think I got it and that I dont have it with me since I have thought that I wont need it.

Hi there - as you know my case is not as straighforward - as I need to send in emails from prior marriage and tax forms from 2005 - the impression I got was that it needed to be 3 tax forms going back 2005, 2004 and 2003 - we had 05 missing which is what Im sending in. She kept stressing the importance that I send in the 2005 tax form. So I would locate the 04 and 03 as she looked at ours - BUT again if you dont have them, Im sure you will be absolutely fine

Every case is unique - have some pay stubbs handy also that will help

Just wanted to add, at our case the officer didnt ask for taxes(which I have thought he will), but pay stubs.....really every case is different ;-)

The current instructions for the I864 only require the most recent tax year, so that is why you had trouble today, missycuk.
