Hi All,

I had a civil wedding to get going with the paper work but our main wedding is scheduled in June. I have a interview scheduled in March. I have a receipt for the deposit of reception and church. We didn't let many people know (Except for Family) about our civil wedding and do not have any congratulatory emails or cards from friends. Will this be a problem for the interview? Let me know your thoughts.

The lack of congratulatory cards or emails will not affect your AOS interview!

Lack of wedding photos might be an issue I guess, but in my interview I was not asked for photos. Personally I would not worry about it.

We're doing the same thing. I've actually heard that including photos of your wedding was not a good idea because sometimes it looked "staged". I dunno, but I'm not too worried. There was no way in hell we could have planned a real wedding in 3 months...

Where did you hear this peice of information about not being a good idea to take wedding photo's to your interview????

I think all wedding photo's are staged.... we dress up we pose for the camera if that is not staged then what is....

There are so many people who are asked by the interviewing officer for their wedding photo's, (ours actually asked to keep one for our case file)... I dont think it is a good idea to tell people that it is not recommended to take any wedding photo's with them....

P.S I planned our full church wedding in 6 weeks.. for 120 guests and a full wedding breakfast....

I don't think that is a reason *not* to take photos to your interview, but its true that interviewers often don't look at photos because they are easily faked (but then again, isn't all evidence?). I know my interviewer had no interest in photos and curtly told me "too easily staged" when I offered them. Still it didn't count against me that I took them.

I 100% agree with Kez here. We were told by our lawyer to show as much proof and photos of our relationship/wedding. Sending a photo of your wedding is not what is going to determine a fraud case or the real deal. Just my opinion.

P.s. We are having a small intimate wedding with all the trimmings and planned it in about 2 months.

I wasn't suggesting NOT to take pictures at the wedding. I was just sharing something I had heard previously. I honestly don't remember who I heard it from.

And it's not the planning that we can't get done in 3 months ... it's the paying part :(

IMHO

It would only show them that your are including your family's just adding more public affirmation that you are in fact married and plan to stay that way.
