At the end of this month will be 9 months since my husband and I started this journey. We are currently waiting for NVC to approve the documents and send us our appointment letter. I hope my husband is finally in America in the month of April. As the days are getting closer to him coming here, I am getting more anxious. This has been a long journey, but we are starting to see the light.

Best of wishes to every other couple who is still waiting to be with their loved one. You are strong. This situation has only made us stronger.

It is a crazy long process. The longest and most inefficient I have ever heard of. I love how, just before we got married, I was talking to my husband and his family and they all thought I could just move over whenever I wanted once we were married. :) Not quite how it works.

Best of luck to you too. Hope you're re-united in April. My husband and I are aiming for July, even though that's less than a year.

Thank you. Same to you! We thought the whole process would take 3 months.....boy were we wrong. This is no way to keep families together. There has got to be a better system. What step are you in?

I knew the process was gonna be a bit long but I was thinking six months. Not 12+ months...

Before we started this process, my husband and I were talking about us both immigrating to Canada or him moving to Europe as well. The Canadian immigration process would have taken around four months and that's with neither of us having ties to Canada. If my husband had moved over to me in Sweden, the process would have taken three months and you deal with ONE government agency, not four. The US immigration process can be made so much more efficient.

My husband and I are coming up on the five month mark with USCIS. Hoping they'll keep their goal of five months but my husband and I have some special circumstances that might make the process longer. Hoping and praying it won't though.

At least you're at the end of your visa journey. You can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. :)

We need so much strength and patience for this journey.....We too were looking at being together within a year and now we're celebrating our 3rd anniversary April of this year and hoping it will be together this time.....We have been checklisted for our AOS on question 5 re household figure and the case number not being written on the right hand corner of documents and now another stretch of waiting has started maybe much longer than 60 days since it has not been received since our Jan 6th 2015 resent.

I do wish for all no checklist at NVC because this again dampens the spirit of seeing a light at the end of the tunnel shortly....Goodluck to all!

By the way...we started our visa journey Dec 2012.
