End prison perks for ‘fake’ Muslims

(Here is a letter to the Editor that we all should think is a good idea..... the left, right and real Muslims. What do you all think?)

President Obama and his administration seem quick to assert that the multitude of terrorist acts perpetrated in recent history are done by individuals who do not represent the religion of Islam. This is their justification for not identifying these enemies of freedom as Islamic radicals or Islamic terrorists.

The Obama administration would have America believe that killers such as Sept. 11, 2011, mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and U.S. Army “workplace violence” purveyor Nidal Hasan are somehow false Muslims because their terrorist crimes are not in accordance with the tenets of Islam.

If all this were indeed true, then the Obama administration should immediately confiscate the Korans, prayer rugs, halal meals and any other related articles of Islamic faith from all of these terrorists locked up in federal maximum security and U.S. military prisons. An incarcerated “fake” Muslim has no business possessing a Koran or dining on halal meals.

Mr. Obama, you cannot eat your cake and have it, too.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Yeah during Ramadan they have to bring them all special meals in the middle of the night because they can't eat while the sun is up or some crazy superstition along those lines. I think a bunch of folks become instant Muslims when they get locked up just to thumb their nose at the man.

Really they should do away with ALL religion is prison. Break the law? Lose your freedom of religion privileges. They alredy take awy your right to vote and bear arms, might as well strip the religion out of it as well.

How insightful.

It was dismissive.

The OP article is craptacular.

If you can prove otherwise without resorting to personal insults or partisan mudslinging, maybe I'll change my opinion.

Until then, your disgruntlement over my textual expression of boredom is noted.

That also means that we'd remove all Bibles from prisons as well seeing how no person that lives according to the tenets of Christianity would ever end up in the slammer.

Oh, the moral equivalency argument. So worn out. Here on VJ and around the world we are constantly told that the 'Muslim' terrorists are not Muslim. So, lets take away Muslim religious items from these 'fake' Muslims. Seems simple.

In 2015 'Muslim' terrorism is more prevalent than 'Christian' terrorism. I don't care if we take away Bibles from 'fake' Christians. But the ACLU, lefties and 'real' Muslims will be OUTRAGED if 'fake' Muslims are offended in any way. Weird.

The problem here is that your partisan outlook leads you to partisan conclusions.

They can eat what everyone else is having or be allowed to buy any special meals they require. I for one would love to have the contract to serve any specialized meals. I even promise that no pork will be served. Honest...

What I find hypocritical about the OP premise is that it's entirely partisan. There's no recognition that US foreign policy post 9/11 exacerbated the problem of violent extremism in the middle east, something that was signposted so often prior to the decision to go to war. Similarly no recognition that that decision was a mistake and that we are now paying the price for it. In short, no analysis of any kind at all.

In fact, all threads like this set out to achieve is for far right bigots to assert their bigoted opinions. Marvellous!

Consider the sources... It's sad, yet not at all surprising.

how in the world can a government entity decide if someone is a 'real' or 'fake' follower of a religion and why do we want to give the government the power to determine such a thing?

The Government already has that power and uses it often.
