Hey Guys,

I sent my I-751 about three weeks ago. My check was cashed. I received my receipt and all is fine and dandy :) I would like to know if the online "case status" system works for I-751 applications. I enter my receipt number WAC.... and I got an error message. It would be nice to get notified if the status changes. Cheers!

11/11/2012: I-130 filled

11/11/2012: I-484 filled

02/06/2013: I-130 approved

02/24/2013: I-485 approved

02/29/2013: Green Card Received

07/28/2014: AR-11 Change of address

08/27/2014: I-865 Sponsor change of address

Your NOA1 receipt number won't work. You will need to wait until you get the biometrics appointment letter. That one will have another case number on it and you can use that to check your status. If you read your NOA1 you will see that it says that right on it. It says that once you receive your biometrics letter you will be able to check your case status online.

As Ms Hoagn said, the notice tells you to wait for the biometrics letter in order to follow your case online.

That being said, don't hold your breath too long waiting for your case to update. I had good luck with my notifications but others NEVER see any updates online, even after receiving their green cards in the mail. Some people even start to receive updates AFTER getting their GC. Not exactly useful.

Biometrics appointment letter can come in a couple of weeks or so but can take longer!! If you haven't received it within 30 days of your NOA date, you can call and request that they resend it to you! Good luck! :)

Does that mean that the receipt number from the biometrics notice is the final number for I-751 application?

Use that one for checking on your case status. I remember seeing that mine was hyphenated with both numbers. I don't know why they do that. But when I added me and my kids to my USCIS case status account I used the biometrics one and set myself up for text and email notifications.
