Oh I'm told and believe that it adds to the legitimacy! I mean...after wedding planning for 200 people I can't imagine why ANYONE would go through this for anything other than a real relationship because this stuff is awful! Our whole extended families are coming together, friends, we're spending a ton of money, arguing about table cloths, etc so we brought all the proof of those things. What would be the rational for downplaying it I wonder?

It has been 8 months since we mailed the AOS package...

On Oct. 5, I submitted an online e-request, and today we got electronic notification that interview has been scheduled on Nov. 24!!! Yay!

I believe I'm one of the few left that are still waiting for the interview. We moved during AOS, so that might have caused delay.

But anyway, I feel happy that we are one big step closer to the finishing line!

Just a quick questions for those that have had interviews... Are electronic devices (phone, ipad etc) allowed during the interview? I was debating whether I should print out our photos in hard copies or if it's ok to show the officer our photos on the phone/ipad.

Thanks!

Congratulations!!!!

They want to keep everything you give them so you can't show them digital copies - you'll need print outs they can keep in their files.

Could you please show the URL for the website that can be used to submit the online e-request.

I, and many (most) others here were under the impression that the only way to do something like you did was to call the 800 number for USCIS.

Thanks, Leo

Here is the link to submit the e-request if you find you case is outside normal processing time:

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do;jsessionid=abc3xTyyU_UqJbJ2l8hcv?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

I've heard that you can get a response within 5 days if you call the 800 number. If you submit an online request, it says that you should expect a response within 21 days. I got the interview notice today, but still hasn't heard any response to the submitted e-request.

We went to interview scheduled for this morning. Went pretty well it seemed.

The I/O said that in this office, they never give 'on the spot' approvals.

Have to run everything through the office supervisor for final approval.

When we got home, emails time stamped at 6:12 PM, were there saying wife approved and Green Card was in production.

I will write more details later.

I was just looking back and noticed that USCIS sent wife her first EAD card in June 2014 under the F-1 OPT program via USPS registered mail with a tracking number.

However, when she was sent her second EAD card in April 2015 under the AOS, it was sent regular mail with no tracking number.

And now, USCIS says it has sent her Green Card, but there is no tracking number.

So it appears that USCIS has decided to save money and not pay for registered mail to send these cards.

Is that the case with the rest of you here . . . cards are being received with no tracking numbers used ??
