Hi everyone!

Sorry for the delay but have been busy!

I had my interview July 28th. We were scheduled for 10 am had to wait around until closer to 11 but our officer was very nice. After the interview she handed us a piece of paper that said we were not approved on the spot but to wait to hear in the mail. I noticed that the paper was pre-printed so it wasn't us. She had mentioned that was her way of doing it. We are still waiting, but feeling hopeful.

I had to travel back to Canada last week for a family emergency and crossed the border in small (small) town North Dakota. The officer was very nice. Had never seen the combo card AP/EAD and I had to inform him (thanks VJ) that was the new way of doing things.

Leo I hope your time comes soon, you deserve it! Keeping tabs on everyone is not an easy job!

Congrats to everyone else as well, nice to see progress

I was just referring to our date of original filing in Chicago.

I was the first to file in February (at least for those who are posting here.)

And probably we (my spouse) will be last from February group to ever get the Green Card.

So let's hear no complaints from you 'late' filers !! :-)

Well, I am in the same boat...not the first, but many other after me already received the GC or have interview scheduled...upsetting waiting game.

So wait... I live in New York and I looked up the NYC processing times. It said as of May 31, 2015 the processing date was October 6, 2014. So I guess that means at least last May they were 8 months behind, so you're saying 8 months is a good indication for me? Or is it totally random and arbitrary?

(Also do other people also have a good grasp on the rules and then suddenly have a brain fart because it's SO CONFUSING and start to second guess themselves?)

I'm just happy that I have EAD. On the plus side... I realize this is the first time in my adult life I have lived somewhere and had the ability to get paid for ANY work. It seems to have unconsciously freed me in ways I didn't imagine. For example, I'm considering things like... could I become a wood worker? Could I tutor? Could I consult for MULTIPLE companies??? Without realizing it I think I had always blocked these things out of my head as possibilities (although they always were if I moved back to Canada, which is where I really want to be anyway). But now I can actually do these things! I just created my first consulting blurb paragraph!!

2/8/2015 Married
2/14/2015 Applications Mailed via Fedex
2/17/2015 NOA Date
3/10/2015 Began long process to expedite EAD. Written about in detail here.
3/13/2015 Biometrics Appointment (I did it early, although after I received my letter)
3/30/2015 EAD approved
4/7/2015 EAD card received - Day 44

Most of the times the processing times on the Uscis website are not always accurate ! For example for Texas it shows there working cases from 0ct 2014 but a couple from there finish their process in 31/2 months

Hello everyone! We had our interview today.

Interview time 8:30.

ARRIVED 8:00

called to interview waiting room 8:17

Brought back to interview room 8:42

Interviewer-So how did you two meet?

Us- through mutual friends.

I- when was that?

U- 2011

I- when did you start dating?

U- immediately

I- when was it serious?

U- after a few months.

Interviewer paused and looked through papers.

I- (speaking to me, I had a different hair color in photos) is this actually you in the photos submitted?

Me- yes, I stopped dying my hair.

I- can you verify your name, ssn, address, date of birth, date of marriage, and phone number?

Me- I verified all info.

Husband- verified his same info.

I- (TO HUSBAND) have you ever been arrested?

Husband- yes.

Me- (jumping in before she could say anytning) we have here the citation report, dismissal report, and a letter from chief deputy stating there is no police report.

I- good I'm glad you were honest because I have already seen all of this and was going to deny if you tried to hide it.

Us-*nervous smiles*

I- do you have any more information to submit?

*gives her joint bank statement, rent agreement, rent receipt, electric statement, post office box registered to both of us*

I- good. Thanks.

I- I need to check a few things, it may take a few minutes.

*we all make small talk while her computer loads.*

I- do you have children?

*gives her BC for child and tell her about how cool he is*

I- have you been on government assistance?

US - no.

I- ok I am recommending you for approval.

Thank heavens. Her name was Buckley and she was terrifyingly serious the whole time. I really wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

My advice,

Be truthful.

Make sure all copies of everything are official stamped/originals.

Do you mind sharing why your husband was arrested for? I have a similar situation as I was arrested before as well. I know that question is Gona come on the interview.

Thanks

I interact very little here, but I think we have a bad reception of message regarding this situation. I don't think Leo has had the intention of being rude. He was just pointing out that there are some people in even long waiting time (the game is frustrating for everyone even when you know that it is also about the how busy the office you are assigned to is).Additionally, we are comparing cases filled in February, which make the forum be about these fillers waiting and delays, therefore it seems natural that those who filled at the same time feel frustrated.

However, I have to say that I came back here twice in the same day cause I just received an e-mail scheduling my interview for September 9th. I thought it would take even longer since people addressed to Baltimore are usually waiting 8 /9 months(for me it is eternity!). Happy day for me!

Philly, don't get me wrong! I'm really happy you got your GC!

Chris, I hope you have an answer soon!

Leo, I hope you can hear about you wifes' GC soon!

I'll came back when I receive my notice to update my time line.

I'll came back when I receive my notice to update my time line.

thank you Lana, I'm happy you have now an interview

Yes I get that it's a frustrating game, I got lucky with my local office but I saw how much stressing it was for my mother and brother 2 years ago and I'm sure it seems unfair that some of you filed before let's say me and I'm here already as a green card holder for 3 months already but it doesn't means that people can just make a comment saying any bitching or any moaning, in my opinion that's just not ok ...but yeah maybe his intentions weren't to be rude, I'm the first to admit he was a big help for me and even direct me to this subforum when I was in the wrong one

Anyone think I was being rude should read my messages again.

Look for the smiley face or the dry British humor, even as I am not British.

But, also here is an analogy.

Suppose someone were visiting a third world country.

They eat in a nice restaurant that is surrounded by starving children.

Coming out of the restaurant, they ignore the starving children while commenting to each other how small were the portions of food they were served.
