The same thing happened to us. They rescheduled about a week later if I remember correctly. I think it's just a scheduling issue with the field office, and has nothing to do with your application. Don't despair, you're almost there!

Thank you so much for your answer! Did you ever go on the first scheduled date? I'm worried, because i read that people didn't go and was automatically denied for not showing up, even so they got the cancellation notice. Don't wanna mess with that.

As per my previous post few days ago I made a calculated guess of getting an interview notice in mid of June for mid of July interview date. I got the notice in mail today for July 20th interview it was sent on June 15th. I have been following few cases on trackitt forum that matches my background ( country of Origin -India, Visa Status- H-1b, Local processing office - Chicago,IL). I saw a pattern in almost all of them. They all got the interview notice around 4 months after NOA1 and the interview date of around 5 month mark. I would recommend you all to follow the cases on trackitt that matches your background.

Good Luck everyone!

Vink, given that India has over a billion persons and with a large number coming into USA, you might be able to find a large enough sample to detect some trends. But for most persons here, it would not be possible to see any trend for their country and their particular city.

In the 'believe it or not category,' we are now hoping that my wife DOES NOT get her interview notice anytime soon!!

We had been hoping to get it earlier, but not now.

Reason: She has airplane ticket to return home on July 1 for a month or so. It was actually purchased as the return flight of a round trip ticket when she came back to USA last September.

So, if she receives a letter in mail for an interview anytime between now and first of July, it will probably be for an interview during month of July, which will screw up her desired one month vacation in her home country to visit with family and friends.

This is assuming the interview will be scheduled about a month in advance.

We haven't purchased her return ticket to USA yet. The longer we wait, the more the likelihood of being stuck with an expensive ticket.

But, it we purchase now, a great likelihood we would have to pay a fee to change the ticket to accommodate a mid-July interview date.

The alternative would be to to call to ask for a reschedule of interview, if it is scheduled for the month of July. From my readings here, it seems a rescheduling (if requested by the applicant) puts the interview off 3-5 months or more. Which wouldn't be the end of the world, given that she already has EAD/AP card. The main downside would just be the anxiety of the continued wait.

Any thoughts from others on this situation . . . and what would you do if in the situation ?

I am also in this same situation just weeks ago. I have a purchased a round trip ticket for a 3-week visit to my home country on June 28 - July 20, 2015. My worry was to have the GC interview schedule which may coincide with my short stay to my home country. It was concluded today when I received an NPIW letter, so I am expecting to have my GC delivered by December 2015 as the letter says so. So, I just have to move on and live my life, anyway I have already my EAD, AP, SSN and Driver License, just enough to maintain my legal status here until May of 2015. Just hoping and praying to have my GC by December of 2015 or much earlier. If I were you Leo, if this schedule will happen just in time with my vacation outside of the USA, I will just bite that very expensive ticket or rebooking and interrupt my vacation just to make in time for my GC interview. However, it is still just me, it depends also to individual priorities and values...

Hello Everyone,

After a month of waiting after the interview (May 19th), I received my approval letter in the mail. There are still no updates on the USCIS website and still says the interview was scheduled for May 19th. I was getting really nervous as the IO said she would make her decision within 3 weeks and we were on week four. I am happy for it all to be done, for now. So for anyone out there waiting, please be patient. I know it's hard, but keep your head up.

I wish we were approved on the spot like others on the forum, but it happens in all ways. I wish everyone luck, and don't worry, it will all work out.

Congratulations! So this means you now will have resident status? Our interview is on July 19th. My husbands DACA expires in september so we just filed the renewal out of fear that he will have a wait like this!

We brought the petitioners U.S. birth certificate just in case, it's better to have more information because you never know what the IO will ask for. Our IO didn't ask us for anything, no marriage certificate, birth certificates, or supporting evidence. She just asked for our passports at the beginning and at the end wanted to know if we wanted to add anything else to the file. We thought this was strange, but every IO is different.

Congratulations! So this means you now will have resident status? Our interview is on July 19th. My husbands DACA expires in september so we just filed the renewal out of fear that he will have a wait like this!

Yes, I am not a permanent resident, I am just awaiting my actual card. It was only a month after our interview, so it wasn't too bad, but it sure made me nervous.
