nickmabz, thank you so much for sharing! It's a really helpful information. I've got an RFE for I-485, so hopefully I will get my EAD by next Friday, which is gonna be day 75 for me.

What was your RFE for I-765? Is that the one with the missing signature from your timeline?

Actually I missed a signature on form I-130 and they sent the WHOLE package back. Signatures are a big issue and they won't even look at it without those. So I really messed up on that one. When I got the packet back the only thing it said was sign I-130. So this hiccup really delayed all of my packets. But if it is just an RFE (not signature) then it shouldn't slow down the 75 day process.

Hope that helps

February 20th- Sent Packet I-765, I-131, I-130, I-485

February 26th- Packet Received

March 6th- First RFE (missed one signature. DUMMY)

March 14th- Sent packet back

March 17th- Packet received

March 27th- Biometrics confirmation

April 16th- Biometrics appointment

April 21st- Second RFE for packet I-130, needed one more petitioner

May 14th- Called USCIS, currently day 58 out of the 75. Currently being patient :)

Timeline

Hi all,

Just called the USCIS about my case and my I-765. I found out that the only way a case will be delayed is if you get an RFE for that particular case. I got an RFE for packet I-130 and I-765 that I sent and this was received on February 26th. I sent back the information for both I-130 and I-765 packets which was then received on March 17th. March 17th would be day number 1 out of my 75 days.

So in a hypothetical world lets say you get an RFE for I-131, I-130, I-485 and not get one for I-765 and your package was received on March 1st then your I-765 time frame would start March 1st/2nd but the other packets timeline would delay. To clarify an I-765 timeline will only increase if you get an RFE for the I-765 packet.

Hope this helps with some confusion and I hope I have worded so that everyone can understand.

That's make sense, thank you for sharing.....

Hi all,

I have been reading this forum for a while, and have decided to join in the fun.

I have been in the U.S. for just over a year now on a Work Visa, but as of November 2014 am now married to a US Citizen.

We got pregnant about a month after getting married with a due date of August :) Sooner than planned, but blessed regardless.

After getting pregnant, my wife and I decided that the work Visa was not sufficient security to stay in the US as it's dependent on me being employed by my current company. The decision was made between us to apply for a change of status so we could have our baby and not have to worry about staying in the US.

So, I concurrently filed an i-130, and and i-1485, along with the standard other filings, in February. I did this myself as the legal costs seemed extraordinary!

Here is my timeline, and I'll update accordingly. It's been over a month since my last update "Ready to schedule for interview", but it seems I'm not the only one at this stage so I'm not fretting yet.

I do hope that it doesn't take too long - I am considering a new job opportunity closer to my wife's family in Washington, but can't do anything until my Green Card is approved. I'm not worried about it actually getting approved as we're obviously in a legitimate marriage, which we can evidence easily (particularly my little boy growing in mummy's tummy) ... but with that said I really need it to happen sooner, rather than later.

Anyway, that's a bit about our situation - I have read pretty much all of these 50 pages in this thread, and wish you all good luck.

02/17/15: I-130, I-485 received by USCIS Nat Ben Centre
03/25/15: Biometrics appointment - completed
03/27/15: RFE - additional evidence requested for i-1485
04/07/15: Ready to schedule for interview

Lanna, look at me. We both filed March 3rd.

Let's hope the best today Wednesday to get approved since people that filed around our date are getting approved!

Awe787 got approved Tuesday evening and his/her package got received March 4th but did not filed for I-131 like us. So that might be the reason.

Please keep me posted from your end :)

Just received text message my EAD was approved. Hope to hear from you!!! I'm alleviated that things are on tracking.this waiting game is terrible.

I was preparing to call on Monday(Friday is always a bad day to start anything( in my mind!)and I was still on the timeline frame(according to VJ timelines). No updates for the AP process, but for what I've read here somewhere the card they send has one line stating that it serves as travel document.

I think you will know something soon! Next week we will be thinking on the next step of the process(interview!)

Someone here can make it clear for us?

Yes, as has been noted here several times, USCIS now sends a combo card which covers both EAD and AP.

Sometimes applicants get notification that AP has been approved, but mostly they never tell anything about AP.

But when the card comes, it is a combo EAD/AP card.
