After the DNA result, how long does it take for the US embassy in Nigeria to approve/issue the visa.

About 2 to 3 months to get results back and call beneficiary in.

Maybe this is a crazy question. But why do you need DNA?

Well I see IR-5 Visa on profile that's a parent. If its a parent child petitioning majority of the time DNA will be asked for. Even when Husband is petitioning wife and child or vice visa. When a child is involved the embassy wants to know if they are related.

Hello,

I am awaiting my interview date from nvc however the petitioner is my wife and we submitted the birth certificates of our two kids as part of the documentation. In this case where I am d only one in Nigeria and d kids answer my name from day 1 ll I still be asked to go for DNA test to confirm and my kids father.

The whole process has been incredibly long hence want to have an idea of how long I may likely still have to wait.

Tnx guys looking forward to ur reply.

Are you asking will they ask for a DNA test at interview? Highly unlike;y since your children are citizens. There is no need. But they still may ask to establish that you are the father of the children that is the reason why they do such things. Especially if there has been a long period of time since you last saw each other. Or they aren't convinced.

If they ask for DNA like I told the OP it's about a 2 to 4 month wait. The children get swab at the lab in US. Then you are called in to embassy to get swabbed. You testis sent in the results are collected and sent to the embassy. A new appointment is scheduled and you are called in and given the results.
