If you guys are going to thread ban someone, how about making the thread invisible to that member? It's pretty annoying to have it show up, and then click on it over and over to just be told you don't have permission to even see it. Or better yet, make the thread visible, just don't allow the banned member to post in that thread. What's the harm in letting them read it?

maybe it's a gear problem?

please describe yer gear, kit, when browsing here at VJ.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

A couple of posts removed due to bickering. This is a forum to discuss site functions so please be respectful of that.

LostinAK, the way its set up now, you would have to log in as a guest in order to see the content your account has been banned from. As T has mentioned, we will discuss with Ewok to see if allowing read only is an option.

If you are set up to receive instant notifications then you still get those.

Thanks for checking on it. Not a big deal, just kind of annoying.

I see you took exception to my comment and I apologize it if came across as bickering, that was not my intention.

My point was that if the way the forum works can't be changed, one option might be to have a pop up to indicate the individual was thread banned for violation of TOS, for example. At least the person won't be wondering why access is being denied.

You have to acknowledge the thread ban, a VJ right of passage.

Getting thread banned from a thread ban topic should be worth bonus points.

I'm not sure you have to acknowledge a thread ban. An entire VJ ban or an ignore directive towards another poster, yes, but I don't think so for a thread ban. At least not the times I've ever been thread banned, things may have changed.
