Wouldn't it be nice if this was the last McDonald's meal EVER!

After spending over a year in Iceland’s National Museum, the last McDonalds meal sold in the country will now be going on display at the Bus Hostel in Reykjavik. The world-famous fast food chain shut down its Iceland locations in 2009, and even after all this time the last meal sold in the country has still not become rotten or moldy.

After the economic collapse, McDonalds failed to keep customers coming back in Iceland, and the company was forced to close their doors in the country. The final day that McDonalds was open in Iceland was October 31, 2009, and on that day a man named Hjortur Smarason purchased a meal as a souvenir. Smarason had no intention on actually eating it but wanted to hang onto it out of curiosity, and because he saw it as a piece of history.

At its new home at the Bus Hostel in Reykjavik, the burger and fries sit on display in front of a webcam, where people all over the world can watch its extremely slow decomposition.

The burger I can understand. Thin, low fat, highly salted meat is pretty much the recipe for beef jerky. Not sure whats up with the bun and fries though.

Here's a happy meal that's almost 20 years old. https://bestofmotherearth2012.wordpress.com/. Good to know that in a post apocalypse world, any survivors could still head over to McDonalds.

more forever blockage.

On a side note, I've been on a pretty strict diet since the beginning of the year, I want to lose 30lbs by summer. I made a promise to myself that I would only stray after reaching each ten pound incriment. So Sat night was my first ten pounds, to celebrate Wifey and I went to the local 99 restaurant for supper, they are known for their kicka$$ burgers. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of fries. When Wifey made a reach for one of my fries, she almost lost a digit.

Yep, that can happen. There are certain fry foods that totally turn me off after not having them for a while. I'm the same with regular soda, can't touch the stuff anymore.

I noticed once that ant's won't eat Mcdonalds fries if you drop one on the ground. They actually make a little detour around it. I haven't eaten them since then.

That first 10-15 is the easiest. It seems to stop there for some reason. At least it has for me. I've been fluctuating between the 15-20 lb mark for two months.

That's usually the way it goes. That's why I gave myself plenty of time. If I can lose a pound a week, which isn't too hard, I should be good by June. We just bought a new Nordic Track Recumbent bike, that thing is kicking my ar$e.

Get an HRM if you haven't already. That goes a long way to giving you an indication of how many calories you're actually burning.
