Is driving with an expired license a deportable offense? O.o Since Scotty's post yesterday and the international driver license post as well, I'm confused. Said driver is no longer driving since he got the ticket, but I was wondering :o

Depends on your state, but I believe if you're caught driving on an expired license the most you'll normally get is a citation (i.e. a ticket/fine). In some states it might be a misdemeanor, I doubt its a felony anywhere. Check your state's DMV website to be sure.

Driving without license is minor, usually only a fine, usually a fee to get the license back at stome time and probably not going to help to good on the insurance rates.

Definitely not in Illinois! I believe you are arrested for driving without a drivers license in Illinois! Not a minor offense, but each state differs. I say that if your state DMV website isn't providing enough information, that you make a trip or call your local DMV and find out for sure. Better safe then sorry.

you can get arrested for a misdemeanor as well...

but in this case he only got a ticket and a court date.

As I said, google helped me out, but people have been acting like it's a deportable offense the last few days, so just checking.
