also, can i point out that the media sets the script (we agree here, no?) and you can't really be all that amazed when the script ends up being what gets repeated more often than fact.

in reality the protests weren't about racism. they were about excessive force. however, the script says this is all about racism. get mad at al. yeah. get mad at all these "thugs" who think they get treated differently by le than other folks. the majority of interviews i saw with the people who actually live in ferguson, are much more concerned with le and how le affects their daily lives, their kid's lives than they are repeating "white cops hate black people". but it doesn't really matter how they actually feel because "white cops hate black people" is the script.

but see that's the whole point. the script is dictated by the media. the media says all these incidents are about race. then they talk about how it is or isn't about race, depending upon what channel you're watching. meanwhile - no one is paying any attention to what is actually going on - or even the original issue - because the media tells you what to pay attention to.

for example, say there's a protest going on and they're protesting child abuse. demanding therapy for convicted child beaters or something. say 500 people show up and walk around outside a courthouse, peacefully and within the law. then you have three random protestors who decide to spray paint the side of the courthouse with something really offensive. media shows up. what do they focus on? what's the headline?

Just pointing out the fallacy in your post. I don't care at all, just find it funny you're trying really hard to be the newbie when a blind person can see that's not the case.

I've let some of my black coworkers and friends read what's posted here. They're not as "diplomatic" as I am. The conversations they want to have with some of you(esp Lib and Exexpat) wouldn't end well.

If you and the rest of the people who are obsessed with all things negatively associated with black people would drop that pretense, you could learn something from the people who post here.

If the person is black, there should be no references to Al, Jesse, Obama, Holder, black community, single parents, drug use, thugs, ghetto, ebonics, you people, TM, or any other random black associated thing that has nothing to do with the conversation.

Warren Sapp ran his course pages ago, probably because there wasn't much of a topic there to begin with.

And as seems likely it seems the article was posted because Warren Sapp is black and there's am implication by the OP that black posters like Marvin should defend themselves from guilt by association.
