AP cleared, now what?

Anyone here know how long it takes to issue the K1 visa AFTER AP is cleared?

Was told my fiancé's AP was cleared a week ago *thank God*, but no CEAC updates since then.

I know, I know, the magical words are "just wait", but I am wondering how long it took others to get the visa after their AP was cleared, please and thanks!

My fiance will also be going to Islamabad for interview. How long after the interview did they tell you the AP was cleared? I hope someone else has a better answer about how long the visa will take to get to you. Please keep us updated with what happens next. Best of luck to you

Good luck to your Fiancé! My fiancé was approved (Alhumdulilah) at his interview and was issued a 221-G 3 weeks *after* the interview. I was shocked. But found out two weeks later that it was cleared and was issued only for a quick background check. Now, the 221-G is thankfully clear, so I'm trying to gauge how much longer it'll take to actually issue the visa...sigh.

Also, to answer your question, the embassy hasn't been in touch at all. I've even emailed 4 times and haven't gotten a response once. All info I have gotten has been from calling the NVC 3 times and holding for an hour each time. Good times!

Ah yeah I have heard about Islamabad not responding to inquiries very quickly or at all. I wish Karachi was doing K1 visas because I emailed them about a question and got a very polite response the next day! it was lovely And NVC is not easy to get in touch with even when they are open :/ I'm still waiting for them to send my case over to Islamabad.

Maybe I should ask Karachi to reach out to Islamabad.

I can't complain too much. The Islamabad office has been good to us otherwise. We got packet 3.5 the day after they got the packet from NVC! And InshaAllah I'm sure they'll send your packet over soon; they're pretty efficient! Keep usposted
