Co-Sponsor income question

My father is going to be my fiance's co-sponsor for his K1, and I have a question about income. My father is 66 and currently still working. He makes an annual income of $50,000 and he is also on early retirement getting an extra $15,000 annually from the Social Security Administration.

Do I need to list the $15,000 extra income on the Affidavit of Support form? Or will they look at that as government assistance and then deny the visa?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I believe the $50,000 income will be sufficient (assuming the household size corresponds) so you are not required to list anything else if you do not wish.

Current income is key. If it is sufficient, additional income is not required.

He filed his taxes this weekend. So we are including a copy of his tax returns with the affidavit. Because technically it is "taxable income".

My concern is if they will look upon this in a negative way, either because it is money from the government, or that he is over retirement age.

He made $49,906 gross, $43,650 taxable from his employment. And his household size is two: himself and my mother. So with just his employment income I believe it is sufficient. But I was wondering if I need to include the Social Security in his income on the form since it will be listed on his tax return.

If it's part of the ITR, then yes include it.
