Thank you we need all the luck in the world and good luck to you.

I came to poke my head in to check to see if any familiar faces were still around and I was disappointed to see you're not done yet! Glad you have an interview coming up soon though and best of luck that everything goes smoothly!! :)

It has now been 98 days since my husband's interview, and we are still in AP. No reason given and the last time we heard from the embassy was Christmas Eve. All that they said was that AP usually takes 2 to 4 months (which is much longer than what they told us at the interview and longer than the estimate given on the embassy website). I just wish this part of the process was even a little bit more transparent. It's absolutely killing me to just sit here and wait and not have any control over this.

I contacted both of my Senators and my rep in Congress. Hopefully somebody can get something done, but I have pretty low expectations. I just feel so defeated and helpless.

There is no excuse why a fellow Sept 2013 filer isn't through to the finish line!! I hope and pray that some movement and progress comes your way so you can be reunited soon. This process makes every one of us suffer but we come out stronger at the end. I hope your reps can make something happen!!

So they gave you a checklist for sending photocopies? Did you complain to a supervisor?

I sent photocopies because that's what they said on their website.

No...I called them twice and spoke to 2 different people who told me that they weren't accepting copies. I didn't know that the rules had changed and that photocopies were okay until after i submitted everything. Now they have originals for all of my wife's docs. :/

They don't have an excuse now, we'll all be done with this mess soon.

Thanks for the advice!

Also, just a heads up-someone mentioned that after early November 2014, NVC no longer requires originals of civil documents and that copies will be accepted--this was NOT the case for me. They required ALL originals from us, which was incredibly difficult given that my wife lives in Iraq. It makes no sense why she has to send her papers across the ocean to NH only to have NH send them allll the way back to the embassy when the interview date is set. She could just bring them with her...duh. But then again, this is NVC. They think make us listen to them talk to us in Spanish after hitting "english" is an improvement, smh.

Your very welcome hahaa and yes NVC should have done this years ago, plus the lost many documents that are not easy to replace thank God they didn't lose any of ours but they did other horrible things I wont take the time to mention. I think they did it on purpose but now they don't need to since their dept is flooded with files. It's a wonder anything gets done. t5063.gif

Oh my sweet angle I'm so very sorry but your in my prayers and your getting close to the 4 month mark so it should be any time now God wiling. Keep your chin up (easier said than done) . I just don't understand why they can't just tell people why they are put in AP it doesn't make any sense to hide anything at this point. These are the things they should be fixing not adding more people to the paper works I:E illegals it just doesn't make any sense. :(

I hope the Senator or Congress person can help you out in any way, I know they can't hurry the process but why can't they get information as in why the person is in AP?

So, happy to find this thread. It lit up my mood to see a thread that support each other because they feel each other's pain. I am yet to send my packages (Waiting some documents from joint sponsor. :( ) Hopefully this week.

Hello Ritbiv so very happy your joining us and thank you so much, love your little putty tat. :)

I'm happy you found us and it is nice here no one puts anyone down for complaining like they do in other threads and you can talk about anything here without being put down. So my dear graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread.

Now just relax I know you want to send all the paper work out but the Joint Sponsor is very important and by going together there is less possibility of loss. Don't forget keep a hard copy of everything you send and scan it to keep on your PC. I say hard copy because I only scanned mine and my PC crashed and I lost everything. I was lucky to have hard copies of a few things. Again well come :Dt5063.gif

Though you kept low, you were always in my thoughts. It's actually encouraging to see them volunteer the 2-4 months bit. This means February should be it for you.

Cross posted from other thread... heh.

Scan date 11 Dec, still says PAID. I have now talked myself into us getting either straight out denied or a checklist :( I hope I'm wrong but I have been thinking about my husband's income. We submitted 2013 documents for when he was working on Guam BUT they know he's not working on Guam anymore, they know he's working here and I don't know if they count Australian income :(

If they say no, we are stuffed 'til September when his new job starts. He does have paperwork for that job, but I don't know if it will be enough.

Am I going insane? I feel like I am going crazy and my husband says that I am making up reasons for us to be checklisted/denied. But I feel like it could happen and I am such a mess.

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

bang.gif I just called my congressman's office, and asked the assistant if asking for help with our case will help or will the Embassy be mad about it? The assistant said, no, it'll can't hurt, send us all the information, so we can get started on it. I told him about my concerns with all the political violence going on over there right now...he said to send his name, passport number, exp date, and case number and a detailed email. So i spent like 3 hours working on this email, going through all my paperwork to get the dates right for the email. I sent the email, and just called their office to confirm that they received it. nodding-yes-by-a-very-happy-smiley-emoti

This was last year when Bangladesh was in a similar situation due tot he elections and it was chaotic there. Nope, no help. So...I don't have much hope for help but I think I'll send a letter again. Let us know if you hear anything from them!

I sent the email, and just called their office to confirm that they received it. nodding-yes-by-a-very-happy-smiley-emoti

So..... Let's see what happens..nervous-prayer-smiley-emoticon.png.i-cant-look-smiley-emoticon.png

So happy for you, my Senator and Congress women did NOTHING for us your one of the lucky ones that is actually getting help. I'll be praying this goes quickly and you get your husband home. :)t5063.gif

ahh yes the congressman, well maybe ill do that too good idea. Idk about any help though. Fellow Californian , I also sent a letter about a year ago and all they told me was, you have to wait. This was last year when Bangladesh was in a similar situation due tot he elections and it was chaotic there. Nope, no help. So...I don't have much hope for help but I think I'll send a letter again. Let us know if you hear anything from them!

Geez I'm so sorry I hope it does help because it can't hurt. If you can pick someone in Ca that isn't retiring like Boxer she did nothing for me neither did Napolitano but you never know about Napolitano after I let her assistant have it she might have changed her attitudes to helping. I'll be praying all of you get your Visa's soon. t5063.gif

I'm on the verge of tears right now....I just spoke with them on the phone and they said the signature doesn't look like an original bc they think it might be a copy. But it's 100% an original!!! I mailed everything overnight! I don't know what to do...they said they'd put it in supervisory review....but man oh man....another 60 days?? for something that isn't even true! they said the documents are complete otherwise! This isn't fair! I did everything right!!
