Do you or anyone know about paying ELIS now? I wasn't told ANYTHING from the CO about this, she simply said have a nice day and that was it. So, I understand I have to pay the Visa fee before my wife flies out of the country, but how come they don't tell you this at interview? What if I didn't learn that from this awesome website? I feel they need to better inform people who for example are older or oblivious to the internet. Anyways, I'm assuming I have to have my wife's passport and A number to be able to pay.

You get the information when you pick up your Visa. Because you need the Visa information to pay.

and no you DO NOT HAVE to pay before she leaves. That is your choose. You have a year to pay if you so choose. Just many like to pay so they can have the green card in a few weeks. When every IR1/CR1 arrives you get a temporary green card stamp in your passport that's suffices as your green card.. Again you DO NOT HAVE to pay before you leave to the US do not let the embassy make you think you have to do it before you leave many pay when they get here.

Don't make me have to come over to your embassy and straighten them out. LOL

Had my interview yesterday, February 4th 2015, in Montreal Canada! went really smooth! i was approved. the whole process took about 2 hours total!!! got to the embassy at 650am (was first in line), doors opened at 730 am, when through airport security like process. then went downstairs to a waiting room, waited right beside the elevator to be the first one in! went in the elevator at 800am, (stand near the back doors to be first off). was first one in the check in desk and was seen by the first window 10 mins later (gave passport, photos, interview letter, and medical test). then sat back down (about 10 mins) and was called up to another window for the interview process. was asked about 10 questions (very basic), then was given a welcome to America letter and was approved!! was out before 9am!!! my interview was scheduled for 930am but they let you in early!! go in early cause they are less busy!!!

HI! I can come in here instead of lurking now!

Just found out we got case complete as of yesterday! Last scan date 11 Dec.

Hoping we get an interview in March. My husband leaves on March 2 to go back to the USA and I'd love us to not be apart too long.

But with a CC of just yesterday I feel we will probably be an April interview. What do you guys think?

With Australia you may be in the March bunch. Keep an eye on that email inbox. fingers crossed you never know. Depends how big the queue was ahead of you.

MY WIFE HAD INTERVIEW SCHEDULED THIS MORNING AT THE EMBASSY IN NAIROBI, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THEY TOLD HER THEY ARE UNABLE TO "OPEN HER FILE" THEY MADE HER WAIT FOR 5HRS AND FINALLY RESCHEDULED HER FOR MON FEB 10TH...

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE OF EMBASSY UNABLE TO "OPEN FILE"

Never heard that reason. But I have heard computer issues and others reasons to reschedule it does happen. Just come back in 5 days. Not to worry it does happen.

Do you know how long it will take me to get me passport mailed? i only live 7 hours away from Montreal. my Visa already said "issued" a few hours after i was approved.

CC 1/22, got the interview P4 letter in the email yesterday, Interview is set for March 18th @ New Delhi Consulate.

Frustrated but conditionally approved!

I had my interview today and I thought it was going well. That is until the interviewer asked for my Chinese police check. I only lived there 10 months! I read that anywhere less than a year is not needed, so I didn't have it. She told me to get ahold of it and courier it to Montreal with my passport. After that I would be finished and my passport would be returned to me, after which I could head to the US.

Has anyone gotten a police check from China? From what I've read it is very difficult.

My step child's interview was today. We have to provide evidence of cohabitation. Any ideas as to what to send? What is the quickest way to resolve this?

I would post this question to the largest audience I am sure others have gone through this. You will need to show proof you and wife are living together as husband and wife.

I would think bills, financials bank statements, tax documents, credit card statements, pics together. all those things people show of a bonfide relationship.

But ask others because some might have other specific information.
