Hi guys,

I have question regarding my passport. My interview is scheduled for March 16th and my passport expires on August 14th which means at the time of the interview it will be only be valid for another 5 months. My question is at the time of the interview does my passport need to be valid for another 6 months as they suggest on some of the other forms.. I don't really want to go through the process of renewing it unless its absolutely necessary of course.

Thanks!

you don't want to be put into AP because of your passport, so if i were you and it is possible i would renew. spare yourself any delay.

Thanks Orra02! After doing more research on the embassy site, I've learned that it does indeed need to be 6 months valid during the time of the interview so I will be renewing it

My husband called and they said it doesn't have to send other documents, I'll take them to the interview but that the supervisor is the one who makes the final desicion.Do you know how long take inspection supervisor??? I'm not clear why additional review if they are told that we dont need to send again the other documents?

OMG are you kidding me.

I would call and ask a supervisor if they would go ahead and case complete you and you will bring all necessary documents to interview. This is crazy. I would be calling the President. I am so sorry.

Tell your husband to call your congressman NOW! (well tomorrow.) I am so sorry.

Yes, it is exciting to be so close to the end of this process. I won't see you at the consulate on March 3rd though - I have to reschedule my interview as I'll be overseas at the time.

I hope it all goes well for you and I'll look forward to reading your review here on VJ once you're done!

Had my interview yesterday, February 4th 2015, in Montreal Canada! went really smooth! i was approved. the whole process took about 2 hours total!!! got to the embassy at 650am (was first in line), doors opened at 730 am, when through airport security like process. then went downstairs to a waiting room, waited right beside the elevator to be the first one in! went in the elevator at 800am, (stand near the back doors to be first off). was first one in the check in desk and was seen by the first window 10 mins later (gave passport, photos, interview letter, and medical test). then sat back down (about 10 mins) and was called up to another window for the interview process. was asked about 10 questions (very basic), then was given a welcome to America letter and was approved!! was out before 9am!!! my interview was scheduled for 930am but they let you in early!! go in early cause they are less busy!!!
