Got my case number on Feb 20th, 2015 and unable to access to fill out the DS-261. So I just called NVC and they say I wont able to do it until I have received the instruction package from them and it take up to 28 days for me to receive the package. OMG. Anyone has same situation? so depress now. Dont know why it takes that long even case number in hand.

it will not take them that long before you can fill the DS-261 choice of agent form or pay the AOS fees, just call them next week if you can not do it by then. It will take a while for it to let you pay the IV fees and fill the DS-260 application form in. That is why it is recommended to send the AOS and the IV packets in As soon as your AOS fees has been paid to save some time

Hey Everyone.

Almost done collecting everything for my package. My IV bill has not yet been invoiced. Will it be wise to send the AOS and IV packages both with AOS payment cover sheet?

OR

Should I wait for IV payment to be done, attach the IV payment cover sheet with IV package and then send ?

i would send them both now...one big envelope with 2 smaller ones inside (AOS in one, IV package in other)...label both envelopes perspectively, put into a bigger one, then ship overnight if you can.

iv bill takes a long time to become available after you've paid AOS fees but if you call the rep might unlock it. you will need to wait several more days for it to be unlocked, then you pay and then wait another 2-3 days for the fee to show paid. once the fee has been processed your ds 260 will be ready for you to complete.

do not wait.....it will cost you a lot of time.....send both packages in now :yes:

Maybe they just lie to me. Do you know how long it takes from the day your case number was assigned until you able to fill out DS-261?

I have a column on my spreadsheet that calculates the number of days from case number being assigned to DS-261 being available ;)

quocmy:

I have an IR-5 case for sponsoring my parent and I was told the same 28-day thing. I got my case number and IIN by calling them on January 28th. The case number was generated on January 13th. My DS-261 is still unvailable, the bill/invoice page still says 0.

I have been calling them at least once a week. They are saying there is no problem and to just wait for the email with instructions on when and how to pay the bill. No sign of that email yet, it's been way over 28 days... I have combed through the forums and yours is the only other recent case I found where the bill and DS-261 was not available within days or max a week after case number is generated.

Last week I called the NVC and asked to speak to a supervisor. She said she would look into it and get back to me. I have not heard back. I called again and was told they have no new inforamation. I don't know what else to do. They won't even give me any more estimates.

If anyone has any suggestion, please share.

My date is December 22nd, as well! I was hoping to know today but looks like we'll be waiting for next week. Fingers crossed!

My scan date is also Dec 22nd. This is great news if they are going through our day as we speak. I wish you the best of luck with your case

Hey newtotheleft and cloclo2 and any other Dec 22nd (lastest scanned date) filers, any luck? I am still waiting for a CC. It has been more than 60 days! I guess the snowy weather delayed the processing time to 67 days (someone in VJ mentioned that)

Yep still no change for me. I will probably call again later on this evening to see if there are any updates. Fingers crossed for all of us.

Does anyone know if like the customer service reps, do the reviewers continue to work until 12 Eastern? ,

My 57th day since scan date dec30th.

Haven't seen a single CC since 2-3 working days. Don't know for how long NVC tells the delay due to weather story. May be until next winter. Then they will find new story to make us fools :ranting:
