Case received on jan 23rd, still dont have case number. Omg. How come they take so long to assign a case number? Anyone has same case received date and get a case number from them?

Sorry to say case received January 7th and still no case number. They're saying 42 days to receive a case number for I-130.

if your case was received on Jan 23, you have a bit of a wait ahead of you. average processing to get a case# is 42 calendar days....expect a case number mid march....and best add on a few snow days to that calculation too.

Does anyone know which is the correct one to use? What does DR and CMR stand for?

I have no clue what they mean but I went with NVC's info. Some details here, like DR/CMR, seem a little outdated.

The Document Cover Sheet? Yes, we filled it in and attached it as the first thing in the line up.

They are different departments but use make it attn DR (document receive?)... also yes, attach the document cover page or as you called it the "checklist from the welcome email).

okay....he sent in all the aos stuff. now i am sending in all the iv stuff. is it okay that its coming from 2 different email addresses AND that I send it the checklist page with my stuff?

I think you were supposed to send those together. Since it's already done though, just make sure the case number is everywhere on it and it should get put with your file.

It can be sent in as many emails as it takes, and I don't think it matters from whose email address, as long as it is all well marked with your case number.

Well crud. I keep seeing stuff about sending in the 'checklist from your welcome letter'. There was no checklist on our welcome letter so I didn't know it existed so I didn't send it. I just sent the barcode sheets.

Dammit, this is going to result in a checklist, isn't it? Dammit dammit dammit.

I don't know about that, I've seen people say either/or/both is fine, that it's the barcode they're looking for and those both have one.

I am seriously going to cry if I do get a checklist. I just double checked the welcome letter and it IS there--but only if I open it with one program and not another. Otherwise I just get the first and third pages and it's the second. Urgh. I will seriously bawl my eyes out if we get a checklist. I am so done. My brother and his girlfriend weren't even pregnant yet when we started this whole thing--their baby is going to be born in the next day or two.

I didn't send in the checklist, only the barcoded cover sheet. I didn't get a checklist, you should be fine.
