Hi all,

this may be a stupid question but we filed our IV and AoS forms this week via electronic processing. The NVC finally allowed me to give them my email (they would not take it for weeks after receiving the file). Will they email anything to indicate the paperwork has been received. The lady on the phone today told me that we will not receive anything and she didn't know if our paperwork has been entered into the system? Is that possible? Should I call again? She said that nothing will show up in her system until our case has been reviewed in 60 days. but I see you guys having "scan dates" so… argh. I THINK I know how this works and then I talk to the NVC and I get confused again.

3-5 days is normal for those of us that mail in packages via snail mail. Then we get an e-mail stating the date NVC has received the package.

The electronic proccessing group has been reporting a lot longer wait to get any type of e-mail confirmation from NVC. A couple weeks I believe. I would wait until next week before you call again because the reps will give you the same script.

unless missed it i didn't see it on the wiki.. if i did sorry!!!

ok so i actually just did my taxes to get it over with. my question is i know im updating the AOS with 2014 as the most recent but what else does he need? im asking because im not sure when tax transcripts are available online? right away? if not what should he bring to prove i made that much?

Tax transcripts are only available once the IRS has processed the return and issued a refund (if you're due for one). So, if you don't have them in time, then a copy of the ENTIRE tax return will be needed.

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the lay of the land is with leaving things blank on the i-864? There are some bits that the PDF wont let us fill in, and stuff like family member 1 through 5 do I put none in for them as the PDF wont let me put N/A etc? I had a quick look on this site and all I can see is that the NVC is nitpicking and sending back blank bits. The bits where it actually says its optional to fill out, can we leave them blank? I know this seems like really basic and stupid questions but I want to get it right!

Good news though I paid the AOS fees today and have the cover sheet, never been so happy to part with my money :) no I just wait for it to show paid and then pay the IV fees right?

The portions the PDF doesn't allow you to fill up, just handwrite N/A in black ink. It's better not to leave the portions blank.

And yes next your IV fees will be invoiced.

Geez they are so inconsistent!! Some people get everything done really quick, others wait and wait… and there doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason! Looks like you've had quite the journey so far too, best of luck to you! m

I just got a Cc and did EP as well. I never received anything from them saying they received the package. When I called them they couldn't even tell me if they had received my package but only that they received mail from me on a particular day. It was a bit stressful but it all turned out.
