Scan date Dec 9, checklist for birth certificate Feb 10.

I spoke to NVC just now. She stated they did not receive the birth certificate of my husband in the package and that she will put in for a supervisor review (42 days for this). Unbelievable since it was in the package of course.

Question now is, can I send photocopy of document now even though a supervisor review was requested? Or will that mess up the process. I can't imagine waiting another 42 days to hear that "no we still don't have it" and then have to wait 60 days more.

Anyone have an experience like this-what happened what did you do?

Thanks for any advice

THIS IS MY WORST NIGHTMARE.

I wish you all the best and hope that this will be resolved in a timely matter.

Just wanted to chime in to those of you who are speaking about I-864 blanks vs. N/As etc. I'll just tell you what I did and it worked for me. Obviously I can't give a 100% guarantee of anything with NVC, but I will tell you what worked for me... I got CC last week with no checklists.

Page 1: Fill in everything other than the sections in 1 that don't apply to you, obviously. I put NONE in #5 for alien rego number.

Page 2: I put N/A in the Family Name blank in each of the the family members, left all the others underneath Family Name blank (Given Name, Middle Name...etc.)

Page 3: Filled in everything. For those overseas, I hand-wrote my Aussie number in there because it was more than 10 numbers.

Page 4: I did put 0s in 3-7 because those didn't apply to me - didn't leave them blank. On Part 6, I left completely blank the employment parts that didn't apply to me.

Page 5: Again, for each Person in #6-9, I put N/A in just the Name spot and left the b and c sections blank.

Page 6: I left everything in part 7 blank. No N/As or 0s.

Page 9: Left everything blank.

-----

Something else I see asked a lot is about is proof of domicile. Here's what I included:

- Cover letter like the one Saylin shows on her wiki

- Credit card bill showing US mailing address

- Bank statement showing US mailing address

- Letter from friend who was looking after my things

- Summary letter from continually paid college loans

- Copy of Indiana driver's license

- Certificate of title for my car

- Australian temporary, one-year visa check and information

I also included proof of steps I've taken to re-establish domicile of:

- Summary letter, explaining why I've been out of the US, how my friend has been looking after some of my things while I've been gone and I used her address for US mail, when I will return to the US, and that I will be living with a family until my husband gets to America with their address.

- Plane ticket itinerary and receipt

-----

Because this is also something I had a question about when preparing the AOS pack, I'll include it as well. I had to use a joint sponsor because I've lived out of the US for the last 2 years. The joint sponsor's income alone was sufficient to be my husband's sponsor. He (JS) files taxes married filed jointly, but didn't need his wife to help supplement the income requirement. I did not have his wife fill out an I-864A. Instead I included this cover letter before his I-864:

Hope this helps some of you <3

no true . someone called today or yesterday to confirm 60 days start with your packet. and yes you can send your packets out using the AOS barcode

Thanks for your quick response. I am so glad it not true. So you just send out both packages using the barcoded sheet of the AOS right after you pay the AOS fee or you have to wait until the AOS fee show as paid? and 60 days period should be started as long as they received our package?

Again thanks for your answer and wish you got your case complete soon.

it takes about 2 business days for it to show paid . to be safe wait til ti shows paid then send docs. and yes use AOS barcode but i never checked it its there before or after check and see if its there now . and 60days starts when they receive your package. they signed for my packet on 2/3 and that was my scan date.

Hello all,

Is the Alien Registration number the one which we get in NOA2 -USCIS approval doc??

I do not know about others but I did not recieve any Alien number in my NOA2. Can you tell more about the number (that came with your NOA2) like it's format. How many digits and is there any letter in it? Edited by ritbiv

I would definitely call and try and talk to a supervisor. This seems like exactly the type of case where they will give you CC and allow you to present the original copy of the police certify on the day of the interview.

Sorry they lost your police certificate. Was it an original?

I would call and ask to talk to a supervisor, and make the same requests you listed in order. I think you should have a strong case because you waited 83 days, not 60, so they should do something to help you in return (CC or expedite). Any agency that respects itself will do this on its own, without being asked to.

Ask the supervisor if an expedite is a faster option for you, but the embassy has to approve your expedite request.

This should not have been an issue at all.

Remember, THEY should fix their mistake for making you wait 83 days, they're not doing you a favor.

Ritbiv...The number we got was something like this - A123 456 789. It was in Beneficiary Section.

We used it in the first page of I-864 form, where it was asked. Did you also use it?

Attached is the image. In beneficiary section,...
