Okay, this is a very random question. Is there anyone who has got through NVC WITH a lawyer and WITHOUT a checklist?

Is this true that NVC gives checklists to those who have lawyers?

Yes, lawyers are of no use, i know, but this thing has made me curious.

I don't think so. I haven't used a lawyer and got a checklist.

Hi everyone, sorry to jump into the thread however I figure you guys will know the answer :)

We are sending our I864 in the next week or two, however the one from our joint sponsor was signed back in May... we got a bit ahead of ourselves - do we need to get another one or is it ok being a few months old?

Thanks all :)

That's more than just a few months. That's nearly an entire year old. I'd definitely get a new I-864 form signed (and updated if anything has changed in the past year).

I just sent in my AOS and IV packets. I am a little concern about getting a checklist for the AOS. I sent in my tax transcript for 2013, 2012 2011, which I am sure are ok . What concerns me is the current income I started a new job back in September and recently got a raise which is shown on my latest paystub however the other paystubs before the raise shows what I was making per hour. I hope they do not overlook the one pay stub and see the income I was making and think I calculated more income then I should of. I calculated what I am making now x 40 hours per week x 52 weeks to get my current annual income. I try to get an employment letter, but my company told me that they do not provide employment verification letter, but will try to help later if the NVC sends me a request for one

don't worry...you should be OK...even if they do issue a checklist, you can get a supervisor to review and get a CC by explaining your situation over the phone.

I don't think that's an issue, but I'm no expert. I would not be worried if I were you.

Hi Guys,

As we all are at NVC stage, you might be able to help me out on this one.

1) I am the petitioner for my husband and my dad is the joint sponsor. In the part 6 of I-864 (my form) should I leave the income and employment section empty as I am not currently employed ?

2) In part 6 (my form) do i mention my dad's total income and tax years in 13.a, 13,b etc ?

Is there a sample anyone know's which I can follow as I am having a hard time understanding the income part of I-864. :help:

1) You should check the box that says you are unemployed and put the date you became unemployed.

2) You won't be counting your father as a household member, so don't include him or his income in Part 6. He will fill out a separate i-864 as joint sponsor and put all his income information there.

your best bet is to read the instructions or i-864 carefully and read this thread carefully to see what other people have done in similar cases. If those don't work then just keep asking questions on here, that's what we are all here for :).

Ohh ritbiv you still have not sent the package? I'm now waiting for my CC, just completed the DS-260. Waiting waiting waiting again for the 60 days waiting period. Let's pray hard

Sent the packages yesterday Nyala. They will hopefully arrive at NVC today. Praying that we get a speedy CC without checklist. What is your scan date?
