...and may I add, if the request is approved, how long after that before the interview?

I submitted an email expedite request on 21st Jan. I received an email saying it was under review on 26th Jan. The email saying the expedite had been granted came on 4th Feb. The was for the London Consulate.

I'm still waiting for my case to be shipped to the consulate. They are the ones who will then arrange the interview. I'm hoping it will be in the next few weeks.

I got three NAs today!! Last scan date dec. 11th! Do I expect a confirmation email in about a week or so and an interview date in about how long?

I called earlier this week and an agent told me the same thing. My letter said Dec 11 and she said Dec 15 and she told me my case is under review and to call back next week. I called back this evening --- CASE CLOSED, no checklist!!! :dancing: So, try again.

My expedite request was also granted on the 4th, and my case shows in transit today... so maybe yours is too! If you look on the interview thread there is info on how to track your case using DHL that way you will know when you can contact the consulate :) congrats

Hey again VJ friends,

I was wondering if anyone knew something about my soon to be received approved passport and visa packet. Is it ok to enter the US as a permanent resident as we are instructed to do, then come back to Canada that same day? I'm not actually retiring from my job until June 30th of this year 2015, but the US border is only an hour and a half away and I sure would like to take that final step to activate my residency as soon as I can!

best to post this in the nvc for canadians thread. there was some discussion about this prior. you can do this from what i understand, but the moment you enter you release your rights being a canadian resident..which means no health care (because you are now a resident of america). of course you can return if you want to continue to work, that should not be a problem.....but keep in mind with filing taxes it will be more complicated than you think. some people wait til they have finished working to avoid this prior to them moving. NLR is a good one for answers.

Got the email this morning :) scan date 2/3 !! I got a feeling these 60 days are gonna fly by soooo fast!

Receive IV Bill : January 15, 2015 called after AOS showed paid, they released it overnight)
Pay IV Bill : January 23, 2015
Send IV and AOS: January 29, 2015
Scan date: February 3, 2015
Checklist: March 19, 2015 (only need to send south Africa police report)
Case Complete: June 3, 2015 

EMBASSY: 10 months
Interview appointment letter : December 4, 2015

Interview Result :APPROVED!!!

Finally paid green card fee: 6/24/2016 ( note said we will receive it within 60 days)

1st king born: 6/30/2016

April 2017 update: Marriage still going strong, baby boy getting bigger. Life is good

I had a look but can't find my package through DHL. When I called NVC yesterday the operator said everything was in place and my file should be sent out. She wasn't sure why it hadn't been. So she sent it for Supervisor Review which I'm hoping doesn't 'overwrite' the expedite and make it sit in a supervisor review queue for 60 days!
