Well, it was worth the 40 mins on hold. We did it! Case complete as of yesterday, last scan date 11 Dec. I can't stop crying I'm so happy and relieved! Off to the interview thread :)

Enjoy the moment, SharksBelow. Finally, you are out of the black hole. Big smile and good luck ahead. Hopefully you will get your interview scheduled in the next few days.

I also called a few moments ago (for the first time since they revamped their phone system I was lucky to be picked), but the representative told me our case hadn't been reviewed yet. Our scan date is Dec 11 as well, so we will remain positive for a CC today or tomorrow.

To All VJer's - To all waiting for their interview or case complete or just waiting to get I-130 approved.

I want to Thank you this community for a good bit of a help I have got for my personal case and lately for my mother's case. If I put all those time together I must say there's an abundant information that this website and users has provided to each other. Bravo!!!

With that note, I want to share this last interview experience for my mother that happened on 4th February in Bombay, India. It may help others who are in the same boat trying to reach the interview stage.

She walked in at 7:15 with all needed documents. New embassy is very huge as per she said. There are lot of interview windows, so better to handle the heavy volume of applicants. As per how she described it looks like in Bombay embassy (not sure if it's the same in other embassy), representative from inside the embassy are now helping each candidate arrange their file or documents in order that they prefer. She said this happens with every one before they go to the window. She was then called to the window by her name or token number and there was a local language interpreter who we requested. He/She asked her some questions about who is sponsoring you? where are you going to stay in USA? Who is another person who sponsored you? What is your birth date? What is your father's name? What is your mother's name? When did you spouse passed away? etc. Interpreter then gave her all original documents back and asked to wait to have another final interview with visa officer.

She waited for about 1.5 hours, then her name was called again and she appeared to the window, and this time there was a white male officer and local language interpreter was present. They started asking her similar questions that was asked her on the 1st window by the local interpreter.

Who is sponsoring you? Where does your son work? How many times did you apply for US visitor visa in the past? Did you visit any other country, if so, for how long? Does your son have any child? When did he travel to India last? When did your son and daughter-in-law travel together last? Where do they stay in USA, provide exact address? What does your son do? What is your husband's full name? What is your mother and father's name? etc. - some of the questions are repetitive from the 1st interview that she had at the first window by local interpreter.

Officer was interested to know about her visitor visa rejection (she got rejected 4 times in the span of 2006-2009). Officer asked the interpreter to ask my mother, whether or not she feels sad about not able to get the visa all 4 times? My mother said yes, he is my only child and you were not approving my visa from last 4 times, so yes indeed it's a moment of sadness for us, but finally we are going to be together.

She was then told to pay $165 green card fee before she go to US so that once she arrives in USA she gets her green card on time. This is a new fee that came in light Feb 2013 onward. So finally she was informed by the officer that we are granting you the visa and you will get your passport in the week time at the local blue dart office, please collect it within one week after it was delivered.

All in all, I appreciate all of you for being a part of this journey. We walked together and reached to our destinations helping each other. Carry on this marvelous effort of helping others. God bless you all!!!!
