Hello!

I have a BSN from the Philippines and I am an RN in the states of IL and IN. I've had CGFNS evaluate my degree before (for the licensure) and they deem that my degree is equivalent to a U.S. degree. I'm also an LPR applying for USC by May 2015.

Any foreign graduates here who have been through the same? Did you need to do pre-reqs courses even if you've taken them before?

Are we considered international students? Were there financial programs, scholarships that you qualified for?

I'd like to know your experience and insights.

Thank you.

As an LPR, you are not considered an international student. For tuition, you would pay the same cost as a USC. If you apply to an out of state school, then you would pay out of state tuition. If you apply to an in state school, then you would pay in state tuition.

As an LPR, you qualify for financial aid. There may be scholarships limited to USCs.

You will need to meet the prerequisites to enroll. Check on this and make sure you qualify before applying.

Agree with aaron2020.

My stepson is an , in-state resident student at the Univ. of Washington College of Engineering. He was unable to find any scholarships/grants as that he is a LPR, and not yet a USC. The irony is that he will be eligible for citizenship a couple of months after he graduates......

The devil is in the details.

Okay. Thanks for your advice.

For now, I'm just gathering information. I'd be getting my citizenship within this year so I could do that first to broaden my scholarship opportunities.

I'm also waiting on admission counselors regarding if I need to retake the courses even I've taken them.
