If I were you, I would have contacted my Congressman right now, to tell them about my case and ask them to contact USCIS.

When the USCIS gets requests from our representatives regarding a case, it usually get prioritized and starts moving forward.

FSI, its still early to ask for congress man help. Usually i would wait till at least 6 month after the fingerprints.

Your fingerprints was 3/2/2015 So its not even 5 months yet, and on the 5th month mark i will log another inquiry and then contact congressman.

We are in a Same boat buddy, My FP was on 2/25/2015.

I am glad you got some answer at least (not sure how true it is). I can tell for LA field office for sure. The processing time mentioned is 5 months but if someone tells me they are processing cases which were filed more than 5months ago, I will not buy it as people who not only filed with but way after me already got their interviews done. It comes to only one comment "Each case is different"

I don't know what you mean "discuss" the ticket.

You got a ticket, so you have to disclose it on the form... you can't lie and say you didn't get a citation whether it was fair or not. Even if it gets dismissed, you still have to disclose it.

I don't know about your state, but in Texas if any part of your car is in the intersection when the light turns red, then you ran a red light. Period.

As I said above, if they aren't happy with the evidence you present, they will not let you take the oath. This may not even come up, though.

I think you should go pay your ticket tomorrow (you can go early). That's all I can tell you.

That is not necessarily a good thing. You have no idea what kind of license he has. With some licenses in Texas, if you admit guilt on a moving violation your license is suspended or revoked. Better advice would have been to consult a traffic ticket defense lawyer. Not sure he even needs to disclose traffic tickets unless they involve alcohol or drugs. On the N400 instructions it actually states not to bring documents to the interview relating to traffic fines and incidents unless it's drug or alcohol related. But I agree honesty is the best policy. Thanks for your input! :-)

Read question 23. It asks if you have been ever arrested , cited or detained by law enforcement. Trafic ticket is a citation so you need to answer yes. Once you answered yes to this question you need to put the details in question 29.

You do not need to bring documentation for traffic fines and incidents (unless alchohol- or drug-related) that did not involve an actual arrest if the penalty was only a fine of less than $500 or points on your drivers license.

We could go back and forth on this, there are a lot of threads about traffic citations, etc..I wont rehash that. In fact i'll say, fine, list every single citation.

Like I mentioned earlier, honesty is always the best policy. :-)

My issue is giving bad legal advice just to get some document to show an officer.

In the haste of producing a document to show the citation was disposed, no one thought to ask whether it was beneficial or not to pay the fine. Paying the fine is admitting guilt. For all we know he ran a red light in a school zone, I could see how an immigration officer may think that is more than just a everyday traffic citation.... I'm just recommending, please think before legal advice is dished out. thanks :-)

I think you answered yourself. You don't need to bring documentation for trafic ticket and that doesn't mean you don't need to list them.

I am not here to enter an argument with you. I think I gave an accurate interpretation to uscis rules, if you agree or disagree that's up to you.
