Does IO Officer ask for birth certificates on interview ? Should spouse come to interview because she works in the morning and can't get a day off ?

Sorry about the delay, but my interview was not easy. It was about 1 hour long of questions after questions. At the end the guy said we can not make a decision at this time. Today I saw my case changed to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled"> I am so happy and relieved. Thank you all

Congratulations!!!

Anything you can share about why it tool so long and what the problem was? Most interviews take 10 to 20 minutes so it would be good to read details of a not-so-smooth interview.

Sorry about the delay, but my interview was not easy. It was about 1 hour long of questions after questions. At the end the guy said we can not make a decision at this time. Today I saw my case changed to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled"> I am so happy and relieved. Thank you all

This morning I had an interview and the IO told me that she recommend the approval and wait for the oath scheduled letter in the mail within 2 to 4 weeks. The IO was a little strict Asian woman. She asked my wife naturalization certificate copy but I didn't bring it with me. I can't change my name and should do it through a superior court after I became a citizen.

Just to let you knew the reason behind the officer's statement; San Francisco doesn't offer judicial oath ceremonies, so unfortunately you can't have a name change through naturalization.

Congrats to everyone who has passed so far! I am excited for my interview on Monday :)

Quick question re: the civics test - with answers where there are multiple choice answers (such as What does the Constitution do? - where the answers are; sets up the government; defines the government; protects basic rights of Americans), do you have to say all three? Or are those the examples of accepted answers?

Examples of acceptable answers - you can answer any one of the answers, unless the question explicitly asks for more than one answer.

Yea. I need to do lots of steps for name change through superior court. And that is also costly.

Any one of the choices would be correct. unless it is specifically asked for more than one choice in the question.
